Is this legit? Why is it so cheap? Or are they all that cheap?

I would imagine its legit since its on golfsmiths website. I guess that that is going to be the standard price of them

I posted this in another thread, but it's relevant here.

The DA-12 tour issue on tourspecgolf (Japanese issue) is definitely different thant the forthcoming one you're seeing here, and referred to elsewhere as the TM-110 US (which is what was in Golf Digest Hot List).

They're similar in that they are three-lined, ghost, daytona's with the weight ports.

They're different in that the DA-12 have the tour issue AGSI insert (a little softer, more over-spin), and that the non-inser parts of the face will be milled (like the Kia Ma 2010 Daytona).

Comestic differences as well.

The TM-110 has the black sole that has the GHOST stuff on it.

Finally, the TM-110 will have the understated Taylormade in the back (behind the face), whereas the DA-12 continues to have th coke-can looking Rossa red and grey badge.

I went back and forth and back and forth on what to do here, playing Daytona Kia Ma 2010, and really wanting to ghost it.

I considered going through BOS.

The Kia Daytona has 3.5* of loft, and i did want 4*, more of a mental thing. But I also wanted the softer, more overspin insert.

So I ended up going the tourspecgolf route and getting the JDM Rossa Ghost Dayton - with the milling, with the insert, with the 4* loft, with the three lines, with the while sole....

I was pretty tempted to wait for the TM-110 though. The insert and the milling were the clinchers.

The only thing i'd wish the JDM had was the taylormade logo in back, rather than the rossa logo.

It came this week. It's awesome.

I don't change putters very often. I'm looking forward to another long short stick relationship.

FOR ME, i'm really feeling groove technology (and the science behind it), but i also don't have the best eyesight, and i'm really feeling the ghosting (and the science behind it).

It's fairly amusing that we are so used to putters costing $300 that one for $160 raises suspicions......

My understanding is that the JDM Ghost that onafriday has is the last of the Rossa branded putters with ASGI+ insert. This DA-12 model is heavily influenced by the retail 2010 Kia Ma series. This year TaylorMade has dropped not only the Kia Ma name but, the Rossa name also. The ASGI insert has been replaced with the pure roll insert. I don't know how well the new insert will work but, I feel the ASGI + insert is second to none.

The Est. 79 putters are only $99. Black and no moveable weights.

Yeah, you're right. The version I bought off TourSpec is the Japanese release.

If you google them, the one I went with is the Japan release DA-12 Ghost Daytona (with the AGSI tour + insert, and Rossa badge).

It's similar to the forthcoming Taylor Made Ghost tour, which is the link above, which I've also seen referred to as the TM-110.

They look similar, but for the differences described above.

I agree - the JDM DA-12 is essentially a Kia Ma Ghost. I'm REALLY pleased with it. The feel, the weight, the modest built in forward press....

TM will have2 models of the daytona ghost for 2011
the tour model (as in your link) which has the weight ports in the back and 3 sightlines
then there is a non tour model, which has no weight ports, one sightline and the same TM logo in the cavity
both will have the new pure roll insert

unsure what the bottom of the non tour model will look like tho
