Shaft Opinion

Please tell me how you feel about this shaft or Accuflex shafts in general. Are they worth a try? Thanks for your opinions.

I guess there's not a lot of love for Accuflex shafts.

I use accuflex shafts in my 3w and my hybrid, they are great shafts. I have the Icon FH in my 3w and the HL in my hybrid. I wouldn't use any other. I be on the Hooters tour next season and i trust trust in these shafts fully!! the only advice i'd give is that the evo is stiffer than most, so if you use a xstiff use a stiff and so on

I have played the Evolution in my driver for over a year now and have been extremely pleased. It replaced the NV and Prolaunch in two of my drivers and I have not looked back for a second.

I totally agree!! I'm in the process of testing the evolution in two of my drivers and it's kicking my penely G-2's Word not allowed all over the place

I just recently reinstalled the Evolution into one of my favorite heads and can only say this is the longest shaft I have ever played. A little history, I purchased this shaft over a year ago, tried it and didn't care for it...or so I thought. There was something about it that made me hold on to it so I could give it another whirl when my swing was back on track(cut the back of my left hand right on the knuckle to the bone, that took some time to heal).

 

I have played with it twice and had numerous range sessions in the past 9 days and this is firmly in the bag. The left side had been eliminated (normally fight a hook) and the distance at times is truly unreal. Yesterday I played a course that I play on a consistent basis and have played with many different drivers; and had two of the longest drives of my life...this is without exageration, on the one par 5, I hit what I knew was a good one, drove out to where I usually hit the ball and nothing, can't find it. I knew the ball was center cut but can't find it and I'm thinking it's lost. Quite frankly I'm a little pissy at this point and my playing partner says there is a ball way up the fairway. I see the ball he is referring to and think nope not mine, that's by the 100 yard marker. Still nothing so we take a ride up to take a look and sure enough it's my ball. So we're thinking it must of hit a sprinkler head or something. I loved hitting a little wedge in on a par 5 though!!

 

Two holes later we're on a hole that we can clearly see the landing area, same thing, ball just took off and landed in an area I'm not used to playing from. Most drives were only(!!!) 10-15 yards longer than what I would consider my normal distance but on these two drives it was like planets aligned and there was an extra 50 or more yards. I know some of this sounds ridiculous but if this lends any credability to what I have written here, I am a solid +1.4 (USGA)and take golf pretty seriously. I've always been an extremely long hitter but these two drives were something I never thought was possible.

 

I like this shaft so much that I am putting it into play at the US Am qualifying next week. Nothing like changing your driver a week before qualifying.

I have an ACCUflex VS 339 shaft in my SMT 455 DB and an ACCUFLEX Icon v.2 in my Ashton X-1 driver. I also have 3 hybrids (Infiniti, Nickent, and SMT). Two have ACCUflex Icon HL shafts and the other has ACCUflex's FH shaft.

 

Superb shafts. Excellent quality and consistency. They perform well for me.

 

I have absolutely no ties to ACCUflex, but they are a great company. Jody Baucom, their president, is a quality guy who stands behind his product and really takes care of his customers.

 

That is my experience and feedback on your question. They are definitely worth a shot.

[i have the Accuflex Icon FH in my KZG Gemini 3 wood and the shaft is VERY consistent and provides a long and penetrating ball flight off the tee. Couldn't be more satisifed.
