Bear Trace at Tims Ford

Can anyone give me some general info about the course. How are the conditions, challenging layout, how far is it worth to drive to play, etc... Might play there sometime soon so any info and pics would be great.

I haven't played TIMS FORD myself, but several people have told me it's a nice course, but nothing exceptional. Not really a "vacation" course. Not sure where your driving from, but Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain is in Crossville and is very well kept and scenic. Ross Creek Landing is in Clifton and is usually ranked the #1 public course in TN. The back 9 is one of the best I've ever played. Hope this helps.

I usually play there at least twice a year. Very nice well kept course. I enjoy the isolation I feel from outside agencies since its right on the lake. Most times I have played there I have seen lots of deer. I dont have any pics but depending on where you drive from I always enjoy it. Just watch out for the bermuda greens!

I will be coming from Knoxville and playing at Riverwatch in Smithville on a saturday, drive close to Tims Ford and playing it sunday morning. Just looking for current conditions of the course. I know it sounds like some driving but always looking for somewhere new to play golf and plus I can do some trout fishing scouting at Tims Ford.

I haven't played there yet this year but it is usually in very good condition. I know they had problems with the greens, as did everybody last year, so can't tell you anything about the greens. The layout is pretty good and somewhat challenging. The scenery makes it an enjoyable round for me!
