Fuji 757 v 660TR v Diamana Red S63

I have two new shafts coming to compare to my trusty 757 which feels a hair too low in launch and spin since I switched it to a G5 head.

 

Would I be correct in saying that I should expect a somewhat higher launch and more spin from both the 66oTR and the Diamana Red S63?

Definately higher launch and higher spin with both of those shafts. The 63 will play looser than the 660 so you would have to tip it more :man_in_love:

Agree. You might be going overboard with the Diamana Red, but the 660TR should be what you are looking for.

I had a Diamana Blue S83 in the G5 and it was just too low in launch and spin so I went back to the 757 and gained about 20-30 yards. But the 757/G5 combo was still 30 yards (or so) shorter than my best drives with my old 757/R7 combo.

 

However, the accuracy was ideal. The G5 gives me the exact shot shape I want. I thought about sticking in a Prolaunch but thought that might be going really overboard, then found two cheap pulls for the Diamana Red and 660TR.

 

I'm most curious about the 660TR, having heard so much about it being the best Fuji shaft. I'm even pondering buying another G5 Head so I can do a straight side by side by side shootout with the G5/Diamana Red, G5/660TR and the R7/757.

 

I know this isn't healthy, but it is fun.

I have a Diamana Redboard 73X in my Titliest 905R and love it. It launches really high but carries forever..doesn't balloon.

I played both the 757 and the 660tr. My swing speed at Joes shop was around 108 with the driver, swing normal, with a real slow tempo. I had a hard time with the 757 stiff. I just never felt good with that shaft. It felt to boardy. However I didnt feel the same with the 660tr stiff. Joe tipped it 1/2 inch I am pretty sure. It felts great in my R5. Not boardy at all. Actually feels like I can load that shaft up right. I tried the 660tr in X stiff for a year or so. Finally I gave Joe Kwok all my stats from a launch monitor section and he stepped me back to a Stiff :man_in_love:

 

Said I was to old and slow for an x-stiff. ;) After 6 months went by, I was at his shop in San Fransico where he validated he opinions. I still lost 2 ways to the crafty Ho.

 

I love the feel of the current set up. 660tr is stable and predictable. Get it tipped right and you will love it.
