Fuzion Golf in Manhattan

Anyone tried them yet?

Hey guys,

Looking for a clubfitter in the NYC area and the two that standout are Novo Golf and Fuzion Golf. Novo Golf has been written up around here often enough but I can't find any info on Fuzion Golf. They're the same company that operates down in FL and they get really good reviews, but not sure about the outpost in NYC. They're located in Drive495, which is like a gym/indoor hitting range/instruction place in Manhattan. Has anyone used their service in NYC? Thanks in advance!

I may not be any help, but I did the their "tour van" fitting last summer and it was absolutely terrific. Very professional, very educational, and they provide top notch fitting. If the location fitting is anything like the van fitting you would probably get a lot out of it.

I know a guy who has been there, but didn't commit to anything- said good things abt the whole operation. Drive495 is a private golf-centric gym, but the Fuzion guy Kevin Walker does fittings out of that studio for $225, not including the cost of clubs which are custom ordered from their FL office. I think the NY Golf place on 35th st has a Taylormade room, but never used it and not all the guys there know what they're talking about.

If you're willing to go outside of the city- most clubs in Westchester/Connecticut outsource to John Aoris at the Complete Golfer in White Plains. They are the real deal.

They actually are fitters for Edel putters... Really interested in that too. Hmmm... it's still a toss up between Novo Golf and Fuzion... and now the Complete Golfer. I'll do a little sleuthing on google and see what I can find.

I don't think they have the Edel system in the Drive495 place. i could be wrong.

They actually do carry the Edel Fitting system at Drive 495 in Manhattan.

Fuzion Golf in Manhattan has the Edel Putter fitting system; I got mine in December.

I also went through complete set fitting (cost $225) with Kevin Walker. Nice guy and a Red Sox fan. He used a Trackman in a studio. Recommeded clubs were quite expensive.

I have worked with John Ioris at The Complete Golfer in White Plains. He does not have a Trackman but is very good and costs are more reasonable. Ioris seems to have more experience and is familiar with more brands.

I went to John at the Complete Golfer this year and couldn't be happier. Great fitter and no pressure to buy.

Haven't visited Drive495 yet but strongly considering for a driver. I did Fuzion from their mobile at my club last summer. It was a great experience and they didn't force any clubs - actually took my irons and reshafted as opposed to selling me something new. Got some awesome Mizuno wedges too. Unfortunately they aren't scheduled to be at our place this season until late in the year. No way I can wait that long. If you end up at 495 please let us know how it goes. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, I've lowered my handicap from 24 to 19 this year, playing with old Cleveland TA6 Irons that I bought from Craigslist. I lost the 9 iron (perfect excuse for nnew clubs) and I feel like I'm hitting the middle of the face enough now to get new clubs. I want to get fit and have only heard good things about NovoGolf and they fit you outside. My only concern was that most of the people saying good things about NovoGolf are low handicappers and seem to spend $1500 + for their new clubs. I only want to spend $1000 MAX, do novo do Major brand club fittings? Is it even possible to get custom clubs under $1000?

Depends what you're getting. Talk to Bill or his staff at Novo. Great thing about getting fit there instead of Fuzion (great guys too! got myself fitted with them at the Jupiter, FL location) is that you will be outside. It's a day and night difference getting fitted outside vs inside. Are you just getting a driver or the whole set? Most irons cost close to a grand with taxes to begin with...They're good people, I'm sure they can answer your question with just one phone call.
