I need to see the stand mechanism.
Hi All,

I have narrowed the decision of my new bag down to the Ogio Ozone, Grom or Edge.

But as i will be putting it on a pull cart alot of the time i need to see some pics of the stand mechanism to make sure that it will sit on the pull cart. I currently have a Ping vantage and it sits perfect as the stand mechanism is inbuilt into the base. I had purchased a Titliest bag from Japan, but as the stand mechanism was a lever that stuck out of the base it would not sit on the pull cart at all. The lever just sat against the frame of the pull cart and the base of the bag did not sit on the pull cart at all so i had to sell it.

If anyone could please poct some pics of the OGIO base it would be hugely appreciated!!!

Judging by my experience with the Ogio bags, at least 2 of the three have the same base - ArcLite system. It is not a lever but, built into the base with nothing protruding out. I haven't seen the Edge model personally but, I am almost positive it shares the same technology for the base. You shouldn't have any problems using either of the three in the pull cart! For me, it was between the Ogio and the Ping bags!

Not sure if this will help or not, but here's my 2011 Grom...

I've seen that bag on the websiste but never really liked it in the stock photo. But it looks really good in your photo!

Any chance you could post a pic of the bottom of the bag, the front part that would sit on a pull cart and has the stand mechanism?

So if the bag has the Arclite system it means that the stand mechanism is built into the base? Do other versions have a lever that sticks out?

I have a 2010 Grom, and I believe it's the same foot mechanism as the 2011. It is not contained within the bag like the Ping Hoofer, but rather it's a flat lever on the bottom where there's a cutout of the base. Spacially, it's contained within the projection of the bag column onto the ground so it should work fine with your pull cart.

I was playing around last night with a Grom and a Sun Mountain Four 5 and I have to say that the Sun Mountain mechanism is much smoother and the stand feels much more stable. If you're planning to carry a decent amount, it would be worth checking them out in person. The Four 5 is noticeably lighter when lifting it at the same time as the Grom.

One thing I do like about the Grom is its stability when stood up vertically without the legs. If you're okay with the added weight and plan to use the pull cart most of the time, it would probably work out better for you.

To the best of my recollection, mostly all (if not all) of the Ping stand bags utilize the ArcLite system. I don't know what the technology is called with the Ogio bags but, their system is just as nice.

Thanks for the advice. I live in Sydney Australia and the Ogio and Sun Mountain bags are not stocked by any stores here so its impossible for me to check them out in person (which sucks cos i generally look at things a thousand times before i finally buy them).

So i am basing my decision purely on the reputation of the bags and the advice of people on here like yourself. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Cheers.
