56 degree vs 60 degree wedges

I have just bought a 60. What do you play from around the green? Is one or other a go to wedge?

I use my 56 most of the time and 60 when I don't have much green to work with. I use to always use a 60 for everything and would get up and down almost all the time but have moved to 56 and or pw/9 iron and have been doing prettywell. 60 is a must for me for 30- 80 yard shots with no green to work with. The reason I stopped using the 60 so much was because I lost it and was too lazy to go buy one for awhile

I got rid of the 60 for a 58 a few years back and i think it was a good choice. For me 58 was and still is a better option as far as distance gaps are concerned. I play 52, 56, 58.

Find something that works and hit the chipping green when needed

No worries. The 60 always helps me out every round and without it I can honostly say I am 2 strokes better everytime. Some have a hard time with it though( for example my dad who is a 3 HC). If I were to have to choose and have to only play one I would choose the 60. Damn this thread is making me want to buy a new one because my grooves are pretty shot haha.

I used to play a 58 years ago and it was a good club but for me and my swing the 60 fits perfect and I have never had a problem with distance gaps. It could be because I hardly ever take full swings with my wedges though? I'm convinced 3/4 shots with the wedges is way more accurate and you can control the spin a hell of alot more.

I'll throw you for a loop. I just recently (so recent that I haven't even changed my sig) went to a 54,58, 64 set up. I figured out that the only time I was using my 52 was at that exact perfect yardage(115-120). I figured out that I'm better off playing a 3/4 pitching wedge. Most of the time my 56 was a knock down shot, and my 60 was always some what closed for chipping. Now, the 54 is perfect for the knock down without having to close the face of a 56. the 58 is
Perfect for chipping and I can open it if needed for 30-85 yds. and the 64 is awesome with little green to work with. BONUS for longer bunker shots I can use the 58, shorter ones the 64. It's all about finding the gaps that fit your game. This set up works great for me. Plus, I hate being "conventional" with the set up!

Im no pro by any means. Play to about a 13 handicap but my short game is by far the best part of my game due to many many days and nights and pitch and putt. Ive also spent many days and nights thinking about my wedge setup and this is what Ive been working with for the last 2 years and love it. im sure many will blast my thought process. I have a 50* gap that matches my irons that I use for a wide range of shots from 110 and in, then a 54* vokey 8 bounce. And a 60* CG14 with 2 dots 12 i believe. The rough that most of the course I play in is not that deep and the sand is not too soft so I didnt need a higher than 12 or so bounce. The reason I chose to get a higher bounce in my 60 over my 54 is because I really go at my sand and rough shots so I figure if I really get a hold of em it wont go too far. Plus I feel that out of short rough and the fairway I can do with the 54 anything that I could do with the 60, so the 60 really became an obsolete club for me other than if I was in the rough or sand. For chipping, I use any of maybe 5 clubs in my bag. Ill only use the 60 off of the short stuff if there is hardly any green to work with.

It is definetly up to you. But I would def recommend getting one with a low or standard bounce for the fairway and one with a higher bounce for the rough and sand.
