Whats in your Trunk....

Recommended Posts

Is it your mobile locker room?
There are lots of threads on what people have in there bags but what about what's in your car or truck.

I have a 03' Avalanche that the rear end was setup for my clubs & gear (you never know when you will have to play. :kewlpics: )

Anyway here's what I got with me at all times:

Bag with 14 Clubs
Also a Rescue Dual 19* & CPR 30* (depends on the course and par 3 length)
2 Pairs of shoes
- 1 Pair for wet weather
- 1 Pair that's more like tennis shoes
Speed cart
Dryjoy Rain gear bag (Long and short sleeve Pullovers, Pants, Hat, & Gloves)
Misc Gear bag (Spare cleats & other misc small items)
a couple of golf ball boxes
Speed Stick (I usually go out and swing on my lunch break)

Nothing better then getting to the course opening the tailgate and slideing out my bedslide with all my gear and getting ready in my mobile locker room!

As I've posted elsewhere, I have a 97 Monte Carlo. The contents of the trunk are as follows:

Golf bag...14 clubs, all retail, all fitted, and proud of it.

1 shag bag of old, scuffed balls to hit into the river. With today's aggressive groove technology, it's almost impossible to even address the ball without shredding the cover to bits. I'd post pics, but don't really care to at this point. I change wedge sets about every two months, because I have an undeniable urge to never leave well enough alone. Current set on the chopping block: Pings. Next likely candidate: Some of those new Cleveland 588 DSG RTG wedges.

3 pairs of FootJoy shoes. I rotate each pair, depending on my wardrobe. I have white/white Contours, that pretty much go with anything, so I wear them the most. I use Black Widow soft spikes, and love them.

1 pair of FootJoy sandals. I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity to wear sandals. You should be too.

2 duffel bags (the free ones you get with a Golf Magazine subscription) One of the bags contains socks. Not golf socks, just socks. I feel safer if I have a bag of socks near me at all times. Kinda like Mel Gibson's character in that one movie where he always wanted a copy of "The Catcher in the Rye" close to him. Holden Caulfield is the shiz nitz. But I digress. The other duffel bag contains rain gear, cold weather gear, and some salted peanut snacks.

1 oversized TaylorMade golf umbrella. I only take this out of the trunk in case it's going to rain, or if they're running the sprinklers on the course. :D

1 Leatherman tool, and a socket set. I won the socket set in a contest from another site. The Leathermen tool is handy in all sorts of situations, but I mostly use it to alter the performance characteristics of golf carts. Shhhh. Keep that one on the down-low.

1 pair of "jumper cables". If you do not know what jumper cables are, I promise you'll eventually find out what they are at the least opportune time. Bottom line, everyone should have a pair of jumper cables. :kewlpics:

1 large white towel, carried with me during hot, steamy rounds. Thank you, Holiday Inn Express. The free bedcover is a delight as well. I appreciate it.

Rusty though you have me by almost 10 years your almost like a little brother often time so I am quite upset with the sandal choice. The barren plains of the Dakota Territory is no place for sandals, it has the same climate as the dusty dunes of Tatooine (I know you can spell it).

As for my trunk I have a Momentus driver, 1 extra towel, 2 pair of Foot-Joys, 1 Adidas, and 1 pair of Nikes. I also have an umbrella that for whatever reason I never take out no matter how nasty the weather looks. I just like to complain when it starts raining and I can say that I left my umbrella in my trunk. It make's me feel like a loveable loser.

2 phone books, different cities, cuz I won't pay $1.50 for 411; a tarp to prevent stains because you never know when you might have to transport a dead body; some plastic flags on metal sticks that digger's hotline left in the yard last spring and make great targets at the range; 2 gloves, one with a hole in it; a dirty towel I use on the range; a 3 ring binder from a class I took for work that I've been too lazy to throw away; about 20 or so loose golf balls from my shag collection which attempted to escape thru the back seat and failed because they weren't strong enough to push the seat forward.

If you've seen episodes of the new Ashley Prange reality series on TGC, you know that she custom built a shoe rack for her Toyota 4Runner. That inspired me to do something about the clutter in the back of my SUV, and a quick trip to target solved things.

I have a Nissan Pathfinder, so I bought a little 3-door plastic drawer unit. Top drawer is for gloves, ballmarker, ballmark repair tool. Middle drawer is for sunscreen, tees, and a dry pair of socks. Bottom drawer is for balls. It's deep enough that I can fit about 16 sleeves of balls in there.

I have a really nice leather shoe bag I got from my father-in-law, that's always in there. Of course my clubs are also in there. Now all I need to get is a cargo net to keep some of the stuff from sliding around.

...a tarp to prevent stains because you never know when you might have to transport a dead body; ...

Tarp? I just call 'The Wolf'.

Make sure to look for signs that say "DNStorage" in the front yard.

My trunk space MINI-(Cooper S)-MAL. Still, I keep:

2 pairs of shoes and a pack of cleats

Extra shirt/shorts/socks/hat/towel

Ziploc of white tees

Ziploc of gloves (leather, synthetic, mix)

2-3 dozen balls

Momentus (barely fits)

Sunscreen

Water bottles

Ummm, where do you put your clubs? On the top side-by-side in a snowboard rack?
