Do most of you guys have memberships or pay each round?

Do you guys buy a club membership for say 25 rounds and a cart for say $550 or do you pay the $28 per round?

I buy an annual membership at a semi private venue. I only purchase memberships if the cost per round is $40 or less with a cart. I play around 30-35 rounds per year.

im an assistant pro at a golf course in Grand Rapids, MI so i dont pay for golf at my own course. I dont mind paying to play as long as the course is worth the money

I have a membership at a semi private club and unlimited rounds. Costs $640 but it is a 4 star rated course so it's worth it and 18 holes is $63 so I definitely get my moneys worth

Yeah like I said I can around with a cart for between $20 and $30 depending on if I catch the twilight specials, play on holidays or weekends and stuff like that...I just can't decide if I should buy the $550 deal for the 25 rounds.

I am not a member, I usually pay $20-30 and play once or twice a week. Most times it is a quick 9 after work in the evening, then it is only $12 at my course. I walk usually. I can't justify the membership price of $950, it is a public course.

I pay every round because I'm an idiot. I'm going to have to get a membership. Cost me $53 to play tonight, ridiculous to be paying that then probably playing 2 more times this week. Also, I can get a membership to a course literally 2mins from my house lol.

I pay for each round, I do not like memberships because I want to play different courses. For me, I would get bored playing the same course all the time.

I work at a golf resort so I play for free and we have 5 courses. I saves me a boat load of money

I'm sure for you guys that work at a course it saves you a ton of money to get free golf. Must be nice (if either of your guys are in VA hook a brother up!)

I just can't decide if it will come out for me saving money or not because I'm playing more golf than I've ever played before, and like one of you guys said I usually play a lot of quick 9s before or after work, I've probably played 6 rounds of 9 this year and 2 of 18...I do know with the membership I'd get discount range balls, like $5 for a large bucket and some other nice things, but I don't play at the course I'm thinking about getting the membership every time I play, BUT if I had the membership I guess I would, I like it well enough and it's only 10 minutes from my house...oh well maybe I'll just pay this season and at the very beginning of next years golf season I'll buy the membership in early to mid April because it lasts a year so I'd get my money's worth a little more even.

By the way, I did the math for what the rates would be if I bought the 25 rounds with cart at $550, it comes out to be 3 free rounds so in the end I'd be saving around $75...

hmm not sure if I would go for the membership personally^ I'm the type of person that likes to play new/different courses constantly. I am sure being in San Diego helps a lot as we have tons and tons of different courses. I usually will try to hook up with someone who gets free golf at a certain course and play with them, or if I have to pay I always go on golfnow.com or click4teetimes.com to make sure I get my moneys worth.

I am paying to play each round but I would prefer to buy an annual membership somewhere, I just haven't found the right deal for a course nearby. Maybe next spring I will. I'd pay $1000 or whatever for unlimited balls/play in a heartbeat.

I have a membership to a semi-private course, but I also play other courses. I was playing my home course, as a non-member, probably 3 - 4 times a week, and at least once a week was on the weekend at $50/round. The membership cost $800/year, and it costs $15 every time you play a round. So, 2 weekend rounds/month for a non-member costs $100. With the monthly membership fee, plus 2 rounds, it is around $97. After those 2 weekend rounds, you are just paying $15/round, so I save a bunch of money by paying for the membership, even though I still play other courses. I would say, on an average month, I play somewhere around 7-10 rounds at my home course, and probably 3-5 rounds at other courses.

On top of the savings from playing golf alone, it includes GHIN, 1/2 price range balls, 15% off anything bought in or through the pro-shop (clubs, balls, clothes, shoes, etc) and I think 10 day advanced tee times. It is a nice course that is usually in pretty good shape, and is somewhat challenging. I know pretty much everyone that works there, since I've been playing there several times a week for about the last 5 years. I'm on a 1st name basis with the owners, and they are all a friendly bunch.
