Clubs get tangled in my Ping Hoofer

New Bag

Love the comfort and stand of my Ping Hoofer but my clubs constantly get tangled and I have a difficult time getting them in and out. I tried an Ogio in the past but the stand was horrible. Used a Nike Tour 5 years ago but it seemed heavier at 7 lbs. I look at the Ping Latitude but the dividers still looked to be very thin. I really like the idea of full length dividers. I walk 95% of time and have a staff bag if riding so not concerned how it fits in a cart (and I don't use a pull cart). Any way to make the dividers better or should I look at a new bag? Any recommendations?

bump...was at gs the other day for the same reason. my ping freestyle bag has the same bobo dividers that stop about 6 inches before the bottom of the bag. All Ping stand bags are like this. Who makes a stand bag with actual full length dividers? They all claim to be but I havent found one...

I love me some PING, but I'm not so much a fan of their bags the last few years. Seems things have gone a bit downhill since the Hoofer 3. Personally, I'm a big fan of Sun Mountain's carry bags. They're surprisingly durable for as light weight as they are (though velcro can mess with the cushiony top part) and are solidly constructed. I have the 3.5, and it suits my needs, especially the lefty part, but the Four.5 might be more what you're looking for with its 14 full length dividers.

Sun Mountain SL35 has the same top config as the hoofer but full length dividers. I came down to those two and actually put clubs into each in the shop and at least in this area the SM was much better.

i went from my ping 4 under to an ogio ozone. The woode system was much better, I love the top handle, and more thought-out storage , but the stand does suck, especially on hilly courses. I have no problem once the legs are deployed, and they retract fine and don't hang, but they don't always come out the right distance when I put the bag down.

Coming from these two bags, the only real contenders left are the SM 3.5 or the SM Four 5 (or the titleist versions). I just haven't been able to justify buying another $100 bag when I only have one set of clubs (not a club ho) and my other two bags aren't worn or broken. If I were braver I would chop up my two bags and frankenstein them.

I have looked at the sunmountain 4.5 but don't care for any of the colors. I wished they made a white bag. Does anyone know when they update their line?
