MP-67, I hit it!

I was at my local shop yesterday, and noticed that they had just received their demo clubs from Mizuno for 2007, the only one I picked up was the MP-67, because that would be the only one that might spark my interest, and of course they had no MP-100 demo at all.

It was fitted with the Dynamic Gold S-300 shaft, which is not the shaft I normally play, but I thought I would take a few swings with it just to see how it felt anyway.

Typical Mizuno feel, no other elaboration needed, no one makes an iron that feels like a Mizzy.

The first thing that struck me when I picked it up was the sole, it looks like this iron is for the digger. There is a very aggressive bounce on this thing, which I like immensely (see sig).

Very clean at address, with less offset than the 32, and a thinner topline. To me it really sets up like the 37.

Ballflight is much stronger than the 32, again, like the 37, but maybe a touch more forgiving.

As small as the cut muscle is, I really couldn't help but wonder how much good it would actually do, but my assumption would lead me to believe that due to the position of the cut, it is designed to hit the ball on a much lower, piercing flight than the 32, which it does without a doubt. There is far less metal below the cut than on the 32. It is definitely a players club.

Trajectory control is probably wonderful with the right shaft, but for me the S-300 spins the ball too much, so ball flight was higher than I liked. X-100's would easily remedy this.

Distance was better than the 32 for me, simply because the trajectory was better.

All in all, as usual, they have a winner here for sure!

Won't kick the 695cb's out of the bag though. Nothing will, muhahaha.
