Adams Proto Hybrids

Just picked up a 15 and 19 degree Adams A2Ts tour prototype hybrids from friend and have not been able to hit them. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these clubs because i am not sure if i want to keep them or sell them. The shaft is an AccuFlex Icon HL, which i know nothing about. This is the first time i have ever had a tour club. The bottom of the club says Adams Idea Hybrid Tour Prototype. Sorry no pics. Thanks for the help.

ive hit one and i loved it.........shaft was way to stiff but it had me hitting a fade because i have the regular a2 and the faceis lik3 1* closed or something like that

RH, I've hit them. I think they are way overrated. To me, the new Titleist rescue is light years ahead of this club. Try the titleist 585h!

I have the 19* and now the 21/22 both with the Matrix Altus shaft. I have played and owned many (Nickent, Taylor Made Dual, TM TP, Mizuno ux2, Bridgestone j33, Cobra Baffler, Clevenand Halo, Callaway FT-hybrid). To me, the Adams are the best of the bunch. I fight the hooks and the Adams have a very neutral face and can be bent open, even more neutral to me than the Bridgestone which is another great hybrid. They are long and workable and have a great looking classic head.

 

My top 3 in order of preference are 1) Adams, 2) Bridgestone and 3) Mizuno UX2 (Japanese version).

 

If you have them and they fit your swing, try them for a while and see for yourself. They may not fit everyone, but I really like them. BTW, you do not need to be a low handicap to hit these, I am a 12.

Let me add that there are a lot of satisfied adams guys out there like Mulligan7. The club didn't wow me like the 585h did. That is a perfect club. I don't hook it. It has the best look of any hybrid. It has no offset, so I don't fight the hooks. Some of the other hybrids with no offset like the Cally and the Bridgestone, I had problems getting the ball up with those clubs. They look great, but even with shaft changes, I just couldn't get comfortable with them.

I have no clue on the head, but the shaft is a keeper. The HL will get up quickly and flatin out nicely. Assuming that its the right flex for your swing I would definatly give them a shot.

Any idea how the new Idea Pro will compare to the two different protos?

the new idea pro,(the one with yellow paint fill on bottom), is a little shorter heel to toe and has a little less offset than the a2. It has a more solid feel and sound. More of a thud. I will try to post some comparison pics.
