Thinking of manufacturing a hickory stick line of clubs ...putter through driver.

You might want to check out Louisville golf.....I believe they make a set like that.

I doubt there's much of a market for a hickory set. Maybe some steel shafted persimmon woods though.

Hickory shafted clubs has limited appeal other than a few specialists and events.
Stell shafted persimmon woods and bladed irons have much more or a following IMHO

I have to agree with majic, it seems hickory golf has really "picked
up" in the last 10 to 15 years or so, especially the last few years.

Not sure which is more popular though, classic persimmon or hickory.

Well I tried for the Golf Collectors Society to have a category for vintage persimmon and forged irons and although people talked about it no one would enter but I would get 125 people playing hickories. The Society of Hickory Golfers just played their U S Hickory Open at French lick on the ross course and had 81 enthusiastic players. I would say hickory. Some of these clubs a very beautiful and were the clubs just before the great persimmon steel shafts of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Tad

I just bought a full new playable hickory set (12 clubs)last week
and plan on playing them at the Golf Collectors Society
(I am a member too) tournament at Eagle Crest here in Michigan
in September.

The new set is replacing my aging original playable hickory set.

Except, the old spoon will never leave the bag.
