whats easier on an average flat course

push cart or carrying?

Hi all

On a fairly flat course, would you say its easier to:
1. Carry a lightweight bag (i.e. Sun mountain 4.5) with just minimal stuff in the pockets
or
2. 7lb cart bag on a push cart?

ive been using my push cart for the past 2 years and when I see people carrying their bags I wonder sometime if its easier just to carry a light bag then push a heavy cart.

Any thoughts?

Push cart, for sure.

Definitely push cart on a flat course. Push cart gets a little more laborious on very hilly courses.

I'm young and I enjoy the exercise so I like to carry. I also like the feel of my bag on my shoulders when I'm walking to the ball. Doesn't really have anything to do with it being easier.

Are you saying you can make your carry bag 7 pounds all up? Obviously if you're talking well under 10 pounds just sling it on your shoulder and you'll never know it's there.

But if we're talking about the usual 15-20+ pounds of club+bag+stuff then the push cart's way easier. It would take a very hilly or boggy course to make carrying less work than pushing.

And if you're in Bermuda grass territory and also have to carry a 5, 6, 7 pound container of sand/seed mix to fix your divots the push cart is even more useful...

I find that my back is more tired after carrying and my legs are more tired if I use a push cart. This is on my home course with the same Sun Mountain stand bag.

thats the direction I think I will head too. but since im going to use a push cart still, no need to buy the super fanciest, nicest stand bag. I really like the look and feel of the Sun mountain 4.5, but since I will be using a push cart, no need to spend $150 + on a lightweight bag. Probably get a cheaper $100 ranger bag.
Any suggestions for such a bag??

This. You're comparing a 4.5 bag to a much heavier bag on a push cart, as if you're forgetting to add the club weight to the bag on your shoulders. No way a cart isn't easier.

I use a clicgear 3.0 and just bought a SM 3.5. When I walk, I usually like to use the push cart, but there are times when I like to get a quick 9 holes in and dont really wanna unload the cart, then thats when the lightweight of the 3.5 will come in handy. But I agree, push cart is easier.

That's my usual practice. Shoulder it when playing 9 holes and put it on the three-wheeler if it's 18, 27 or more in a day.

Your back and shoulders will thank you for it.

Wow, not even close, Clicgear TKO Carrying easily. With all the added accessories and the already built in functions of top end pushcarts, it's just so much more convenient. You can carry more which makes your round much more enjoyable. More liquid, more food, more "just in case" items so you don't need to worry about anything else other than your golf game.

You can even attach a seat to some of these carts for the ultimate energy conservation... lol. Yeah, I just got a seat for my clicgear... can't wait to use it!
