Pepsi Tour?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

After all this time I never had any idea there was a local area for us on Golfwrx.Way cool.

I am wondering about the Pepsi Tour, anyone play on it? How is it? Good Tournaments? How much are the cash prizes? I have been looking at the website for the tour and it looks like I will have to turn Professional to play . Anyone know if I can go back and forth from Pro to amateur events once I turn professional. I am a scratch golfer but I am coming off a long time off from serious injuries and do not want to give up amateur status forever so that I can play the US amateur championship . Thanks for any help .

I have played in a bunch of pepsi tour events as an amateur .. and have won "money" gift certificates.

you can play as an amateur you directly play with the pros, and if u end up in a money spot they will pay you in a voucher up max $750

however if there are enough amateurs signed up... they will have a separate amateur division for low gross

and no you cant go back and forth from pro and amatuer... once you forfeit your am status... it takse a certain amount of time (depending on how much money you win) to get your am status back

did you qualify for the us am this year? ...... im sort of local i am in the bay area

to be honest... pepsi tour events arent worth it... you get no recognition, no ranking points... i would use the money for pepsi tour events and use them towards NCGA points events, USGA qualifiers... etc

unless your shooting 72 or better on tough tracks stick to local city events.... or else your just donating to pepsi's over priced events or donating to local pros income who generally will be breaking 70

I avg 69-72 and have shot a 66 at Poppy Hills. Or I did I am just back from a big injury and I have shot a few rounds at 73 and 74 but I am getting back my game everyday. I will be back to myself in a month or so. I was hoping to use it to put a little presssure in my game and to win a little cash and have some fun. I was also thinking the same thing to just throw my cash at USGA events like you stated. I am getting older and need to get back on track and I am so anxious to start competeing I was looking into anything, I am hoping to play Nationwide golf in 2013 on a regular basis. I am also hoping to get my name out there and get a few sponsor exsemptions in 2013 also. I need a sponsor and need cash. Thanks for your help and I hope you do well.
