What are the differences between the Nike pro combo irons and the nike pro combo "tour" forged irons?

 

would it be possible to put steel shafts into irons originally set up for graphite. what would b e the wieght differnces and play ablility factors. ( the above mentioned Nikes) Thanx

not sure on the weights between the graphite and steel.

 

there isn't much difference between the original pro combos and the pro combo tours. there biggest and most noticeable difference is the original combos have a medallion piece glued in the cavity of the muscle back and cavity back irons. this medallion has the nike emblem on it. the pro combo tours just have the nike emblem stamped in the cavity of the iron. also, the stock shafts on the original pro combos is the nike speed step shaft (although some can still be found with rifle shafts as the stock shafts) and the pro combo tours have dynamic gold as the stock shafts.

 

one other difference that has been debated by numerous people on this board and even nike reps is that is a tad less bounce on the pro combo tours and/or the leading edge is sharper. this can be debated. in my experiences (side by side) i couldn't notice a difference.

As someone else has mentioned, the 2004 has a metal plate sticker with stripes and the nike swoosh, as the toour has no plate with the swoosh milled in the cavity.

 

As for other differences, non, they are exactly the same iron.

 

As for graphite shafted heads converted to steel shafts:

The heads that came with graphite are .370" bore and the ones that came with steel have a .355T" bore.

 

So you will need .370" shaft tips, and swing weight them as you would normaly do.
