Hermitage Golf Course

Hello Everyone,

I had the chance a couple of weekends ago to play the President's Reserve course at the Hermitage. This course was absolutely fantastic. It all started with the service in the clubhouse. My group was greeted very cordially and was assisted with anythign we needed. The clubhouse was very nice and had every thing you could think of. As for the course, Hermitage offers two course President's Reserve (which we played) and General's Retreat. I haven't had a chance to play General's Retreat, but plan on going back very soon to get 18 in on it.

As for the President's Reserve, the course is very tough, or at least tougher than most I have played in this area. The layout of the course is excellent and the course has a great mixture of thick rough, deep bunkers and small greens just to make the game even more challenging (which I could have used less of). Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera and get pics, but regret doing so. The website for the courses has a very detailed layout of each hole in detail. The cost wasn't the worst I have paid, but isn't cheap either for the norm for my group.

President's Reserve, IMO, is the finest public course in Middle Tenn. If we had a little spanish moss to throw on the tree's, you would swear you were in S. Carolina. General's Retreat hosted the LPGA Sara Lee Classic for many years and is an awesome course in it's right. As CJ stated, if your in Nashville, make an effort to visit here and play it.

I would say it is one of the finest courses I have played in the Tennessee/Kentucky area. The courses are beautiful and the staff is super friendly and the course has all the amenities you can think of.

You picked one of the best to play in Nashville area. I love that course. IMHO the Hermitage is 10 times better than Springhouse.

I have played Springhouse or whatever it is called now about three times and I have never really been impressed. Although, two of the times I played were horrible conditions with one being extremely hot and one guy in my group suffering from heat exhaustion and the other time during a driving monsoon.

If I had to choose between Hermitage and Springhouse, I will choose Hermitage hands down.

Hermitage is my favorite place to play in TN. the Presidents or Generals are great and very different. heck they have two types of grass. it doesnt get any nicer then there for public golf
