Cancer and Golf

I've noticed a number of fund raisers to assist local golfers battling cancer.

 

Curious how many on this board are fighting the same battle.

Some how I doubt if that is the kind of information that many would be likely to blab all over the internet...... I have a close friend who has recently had to quit playing because he is losing that battle. He does not talk about it to other golfers at all...... unless they are close friends.

my dad (currently 60 years old) was an avid tennis player until he was diagnosed with bladder cancer about 5 years ago.
he had 3 surgeries (the 3rd one being very serious; replacing his bladder with a part of his large intestine) along with some chemo sessions. since them he lost a lot of strength and stamina, and he could not play tennis anymore.
he picked up golf 3 years ago, and now he is shooting 80~85. and he got me into playing golf last year.
we play together almost every weekend.

Unfortunately most users of this site will have been affected by cancer one way or another.

It’s a topic that can be discussed on any board....and lots of people are likely to “ blab “ these issues on/in a number of forums over the internet.
