Swing help

So, I've been doing some work to the swing to get rid of a little loop I had and come more from the inside, as well as deal with an eye that likes to set up closed. Well, here's the results so far, and I can't say I'm pleased with what I see. I'm coming at it from the inside, but now I'm set up a little open, I'm laid off at the top, and I still get flippy through impact. The loop is still there, it just doesn't really go much of anywhere.

 

So, I throw myself at your mercy. Help me. I've got until next spring to get the swing in order, I've decided, been doing a lot of work on it since earlier this summer. Any help is very much appreciated. :D

I don't think it looks bad at all...you do seem to stand up a bit though when you get to the top of your backswing...I'd think you'd be better off if you could keep your spine angle constant and not straighten up at that time...this is probably what is causing you to come over the top. Have you tried the figure 8 drill at all? I'd imagine if your backswing wasn't going to the inside as much that your downswing would be corrected some.

Thanks. The head lifting up was the absolute first thing I saw too. I'd love a drill to correct it - what is the figure 8 drill?

Note: this is not a drill to correct the lifting of the head.

 

The only thing I can think of to really work on that is to swing in a mirror and try to keep your head and shoulders level throughout the swing.

 

Again I'm not saying do as I do because I'm not a great golfer at all but I've been working a lot and run into these things myself.

Anyone know what I can do to finish my swing a little better? I don't want my hands so close to my head, and I see the club "coming out" of my body in between my head and shoulder, and feel it should be lower than that.

Interesting. So you're saying your clubhead should never be behind your butt?
