TPC Deere Run

I am playing in a tournament at TPC Deere Run this weekend and was wondering if anyone has played there and has any advice on course management for any of the holes or is it a pretty straight forward course once you are out there?

Stay below the holes on most shots. Sand is a nice consistency but rain is in the forcast for the next two days here. that will make it very firm underneath! 3 wood is plenty on No 1 to keep you out of trouble. yes you can reach the sand bunker on No 2 straightaway. Buy a yardage book at the pro shop it will save you some strokes! Good Luck!!!

Keep the ball in play (short grass) at all costs, wayward shots are very penal, lost a lot of balls when I played it. I started out OK but by hole 15 I was ready to wave a white flag, started getting wayward off the tee and paid dearly. Not the greatest golfer but that set the record for worst score ever for me, on the other hand my wife played it in a scramble and enjoyed it, she is short hitter but keeps it in play.

It's definitely a course where you have to think about the consequences of any bad shots. Wayward shots are severely penalized.

I played there last week. They aerated the greens on 10/3 so hopefully they are not as noticeable now.

1st hole is a short hole. Don't need driver because there are huge bunkers if you go through the fairway.
2nd hole is a short par 5. Keep your drive left of the big fairway bunker. If you drive it in the bunker, there is a big tree in front of you that will be in the way of your 2nd shot.
4th hole is a longish par 4 with a split fairway where you can go either right or left of a big tree in the fairway. I recommend to drive it way left of the tree. It will give you an unobstructed mid iron to the green.
