Maybe this is a better option for a paint-fill???

Acrilic Ink could this be an option.

Hi guys i have been thinking about this for a while now an i would like to get as close as i can to this finish posted below in the photos i know that the tmiya translucent paint i as close as we will ever get to getting the identical finish to the Scotty Cameron finish. but i have been shopping today and i have noticed Acrilic INK in the arts department and i was wondering if anyone has tried this?. i have also attached a photo of the product below. also included the color range, and the last two photos are of the finish i want to achieve.

I love it to. but i just cant understand what paint they use it and how its done to get it to that perfect mirror finish and to make it look so neat and translucent and bubble free ????

Scotty uses some inks, the tamiya is what the Custom Shop uses with a mix of 91% alcohol, I have been told... Here is a pic or two of some of my work with it... FYI the lime Green Trans took me six months and many many hours to get it the exact same... Not quite ready to part with the formula JUST YET... You can PM me and I will give you the mix ratio's for getting the paint to dry without any air bubbles and just like your picture there...

You guys do know that nail polish is acrylic paint, only costs a dollar, and is available in the clear type colors?

Cheers Princeton TN. i have sent you a PM. I do understand what you mean guys i have normal acrylic paint that i have purchased from arts and crafts store its good but not good enough. I'm after the custom job look i also understand that its not easy to try to achieve the transparent look but its possible. as to the paint that scotty uses i wouldn't know i have tried my hardest to find out looked through numerous photos and the only thing that i have seen in one of them in a bottle that looked identical to the acrylic paint bottle hence this thread.

 

Anyway keep on posting suggestionsand i will keep on looking.

 

Also i have attached more photos of what I'm after. and how did they do the " Breast cancer" stamp on the face and the metallic paintfill on the sole of the superman ??!?!? it looks awesome.

Yep i totally agree with you on that one i have that on bookmarked its the closest finish that i have seen and "deersayer" one's are also amazing but what I'm after it the finish that is in the photos

Tip to get the paint mirror finished? The acetone wash. Paintfill like you normally would, then give it a quick squirt of acetone across the area paintfilled and let dry. Mirror finish every time.
