Slicefixer, rotary type swing

My 14 year old son, been playing about 18 months. Working on the early extension. Any thoughts?

Nice swing. Couple things.

1) Looks a little too far away from the ball
2) I would shorten up the swing
3) Get his left wrist cupped a bit more so he's not as flat.

All things we are working on! He's having a tough time shortening the swing, I'll film a 3/4 feeling swing, he'll look at it and see it's his regular long swing and says well it feels shorter!

problems

1 too far away from the ball at setup
2.looks like he needs to maintain the brace of the right knee in the backswing
3.pushes off his right foot to start downswing.Heel of right foot comes off of the ground way too early.this in turn causes his arms to come way from his body and flip at impact

suggestions
stand a little closer to the ball.it is ok to grip down on a driver
brace the right knee at setup and maintain most of this brace during the whole backswing.this will accomplish multiple things .first it will tilt the hips a little away from the target.Second it will shorten the backswing a little.third it will help to create the elastic stretch needed on the downswing.Fourth it will help to load the inner right heel at the top by placing weight on the inside of the right foot at setup.

at transition pressure the left heel .Do not push off of the right foot

Please provide a front video to check setup angles and to conifrm the right knee brace problem.

Your son is going to be a heck of a golfer.The best advice anyone can give you is to go see Slicefixer in person.A 6 hour drive for you,but it will be the best move that you could make.He runs a factory for golfers desiring D1 golf scholarships


This front view really clarifies things.He has some setup problems which lead to slight problems later in the swing.

First he needs to toe his left foot 1/4 turn to the target.This will facilitate a better rotation on the downswing.Second he is setting up in almost a reverse k with not enough weight on his right foot.A golfer should set up in a reverse k and place about %65 of his weight on his left foot for a lob wedge.This setup results in very little need for lateral weight shift on the downswing and a steeper move into the ball that a wedge requires
As a golfer uses longer and longer clubs and his stance widens, this reverse k goes away and more weight is shifted to the the right foot.For long irons and hybrids your weight distribution will be about 50/50.For the driver there is definitely no reverse k and your weight should favor your right foot by about 60/40.This weight distribution will result in a shallower approach which a driver requires.He also need some shoulder and hip tilt at address(about 8 degrees).Setting up with weight favoring the right foot and no reverse k will help tilt his shoulders..He should also kick his right knee down and in at address.This will help tilt his hips ,resulting in a position that is about parallel to his shoulders.This in turn will line up his
his lower and middle spine and make it easier to rotate properly going back.It will also place weight on the inside of the right foot at address and brace the right knee.Most of this brace of the right knee should be maintained all the way to the top to help create the elastic stretch in the lats and inner thigh which will semi-automate the downswing.Placing weight on the inside of the right foot will help the problem of the right foot coming off of the ground too early.There are some other problems going back and going down,but I have a strong feeling that these setup changes will help with both.

Thanks for the great advice. I actually had a trip to see Geoff scheduled for this past summer, then he had something come up, and we just couldn't connect. As soon as school let's out I plan on getting him to Texarkana!
