Nick Price 1957

I was just browsing through the wednesday pics and noticed that Nick Price is still carrying some 1957 blades from Miura, albeit now the satin ones instead of the chromes he had a few ''posts'' ago.

 

Now, my question to all Miura fanatics out there.

 

Why are Nick's blades different from the retails? I am the proud owner of a set of 57's and they are somewhat different to Nick's. The muscle line is much more curved in Nick's heads than in std heads (pics 1 and 2).

Are they made special to order for Nick? Shouldn't Miura not endorse pro's meaning no ''special'' equipment for them?

actually they look exactly like Miura Giken MB-5003 model except for graphics/stamping. might not be so apparent from official website pictures but I just took my 5003 6 iron and I really cant tell the difference shape wise from the bag photo above. also MG can do custom sets if you have budget for it and ask them nicely afaik.

I've seen the NP 1957 version in person awhile ago at a local fitter; they were specially made by Mr. Miura in Japan as per NP's requests. The head is a bit smaller than the the size of retail versions if I remember correctly.

I don't know if they are smaller. Mine have got just one symbol to the right of the lettering, and it seems that Nick's have 2 symbols.
I went to the Japan site, and indeed they look like rebadged 5003's.

I have hit them. They are actually slightly larger(deeper) than the 57's
