Would the Ping grip be too long on a 34 inch length putter?

I plan on making the length of the putter 43 with the conversion kit. The Ping grip would be installed on the putter before the Belly Putt Conversion kit was installed.

I'm not sure if I would use the belly grip with the Belly Putt conversion. The grip you have on it now will work fine. The belly grips are usually a lot heavier than a standard grip so that, and the extra length will require you to add a lot of headweight to get a decent SW.

Another issue that may or may not matter to you is that the rules say that if you have a club with a split grip, which you will with the Belly conversion, the grips must be round. No paddles of any flat surfaces allowed

Lastly if you must use a belly grip there are several 17" models that would be lighter than a 21" Good luck.

To answer your first question I took a 34" Itsy Bitsy and made it into a 41" belly. And a lot cheaper that with the Belly Conversion. Went to the Roger Dunn I frequent and had one of the guys fab me an extension out of an old stepped steel shaft. He put a little grind on it so it slip fit perfectly into the butt of my Itsy. All I had to do is go home and epoxy it in and then install a 17" TM Ghost belly grip all for $20.00. The Spiders make nice conversions because of the ability to add weight to the head. I put two 16's in her and I'm loving it!!

in all sincerity unless your prepared to go throught the rigors of vast quantities of beer it's probably best to buy a new or used belly putter. If you decide to modify one you have already you'll need a new grip, a new shaft is better than a 6 inch extension and the labor to put it together. Balance point and swing weight are also going to be so different. Good luck in the quest. :rolleyes:

The putter I have is a Ping IWI D66. The stock head weight (inclusive of the preinstalled 12-gram weights) is 345 grams. I replaced the stock head weights with 2 28-gram weights which should get me a head weight of 377. If I added 10 more grams of Tungsten tape, would that make the head weight heavy enough for a belly putter with a belly putter grip (Thinking about the SuperStoke belly grip). Would that work??
