Trip to TPC Sawgrass and Bear/King

Leaving March 2...

I'm leaving for Jacksonville on March 2 with my Dad. We play the Valley Course on Saturday, TPC Sunday, and Bear/King at WGHF on Monday before we return back to Texas.

What should I expect on conditions, treatment, advice, etc. I can't wait! Its all but paid for after I made a hole-in-one, so the price is right.

I've played Dye's Valley only once before and never played the others... I go to World Golf Village quite often for the Tour Stop. I recently went to the Tour Stop to get fit for a G20 3 wood and you go out on the range to hit it. The range was really dry and dead grass was all over the place. I wouldn't expect that on your trip but its just what I saw. I've heard that the Valley course is much harder than the Stadium course. The rough can get really thick there. The service at TPC is top notch all the way, they have a great practice range, beautiful cart girls, and an exceptionally maintained course. Have fun!

I lived in JAX for 31 years until this past November. TPC is really nice. The winter has been super mild so the condition should be pretty decent. Valley course is great. I honestly prefer it to a certain extent. Practice facility is second to none. You should really enjoy it plus the new clubhouse is gorgeous. King and bear is also a good track and it used to always be in pretty decent shape. It doesn't get that much play so it should be in great shape. Service at both will be very good. As part of the hole-in-one deal, we're staying at the Sawgrass Marriot. Hopefully the weather cooperates, either way it sounds like it should be a blast.

Check out Bill Murray's Caddyshack restaurant at the Word Golf Village after your round at King and Bear.............great food and atmosphere !!

I've played Dye's Valley twice. Water in play on most holes. Tough but rewarding course. You won't be disappointed. Arrive early so you can enjoy the whole experience.

Agree with GolfNole - the cart girls are gorgeous.

Played both Dye Valley and Stadium, both are nice but dedinately enjoyed Stadium more. Played as a single by myself on the Stadium course so that was pretty awesome, took my time taking it all in and playing one of the better rounds of my life. There is just something about the stadium course that just cant be said about Dye Valley.

I can't wait, 8 more days till I leave. We tee off in the morning, around 8am but I'm looking forward to enjoying the round, taking tons of pictures, and enjoying my time at one of the most well known courses int he world.

We arrive Friday, can we use the practice facility that afternoon? We play Sat. and Sun. at the TPC Dye/Stadium and then Monday at the Bear/King before our 6pm return flight.

I'm just glad I have the opportunity to play it!

I played the K&B a few years ago. One of the best things about it was the ice cold apples on 1 and 10. Hope they still do that -- there's nothing better.

Had a chance to spend an hour at the clubhouse on Thursday and stay in Marriott that night. Didn't have enough time to play but heading back in a month. Did you book one of the packages? How much to play Stadium course?
