TGW's fraud

How do I locate online a company's officers to obtain either an email address or phone number? I've run into a problem with an order I placed online and it seems I'm being given the classic run around.

A couple of weeks ago I placed an order on TGW.com buying some items that were on sale and receiving free shipping. As soon as I clicked on the submit button the order confirmation page showed a higher amount by charging me the regular price along with shipping. I immediately called customer service who said they were cancelling that order, provided a confirmation number and then resubmitted it with the correct prices. At this point I'm okay thinking everything is fixed.

Two days later I get a confirmation email that the "cancelled" order has shipped along with the 2nd corrected order. Again I called customer service and was told a supervisor spoke to me to let me know the order was not cancelled and obtained my consent to ship both which was definitely not correct. I then asked for a supervisor who told me not to accept the incorrect order from UPS and as soon as they see it on the way back I would receive a refund. As soon as I did that the story changes to once they receive the order back. Now they have the order back but I still haven't been given my refund and the dept manager is "not available".

It's time to move up the line but I can't get names or phone numbers while speaking to them. So how do I find out who is next in the chain?

One trick I've used in the past is to google the name of the company for press releases (ie. TGW press release) and look for names in those releases. You can then call the company and ask for them directly. I would stay away from President's and CEO's but you can normally find some lower level names that you can reach. It looks like TGW is now owned by Redcats Group who just bought the Sports's Guide. You can also call them back & if you still don't get the results you want you can start talking about contacting your states Attorney Generals Office along with their Attorney Generals office which I believe they are located in Kansas. The press release thing is a good idea.

 

If they are publicly traded, you can look them up on the SEC's website (www.sec.gov). Go to EDGAR (the SEC database of company filings), and search for their filings. If you know where they are located, go to the Secretary of State's webpage for that state. States require companies to register to do business there, and the registrations are available online. All of these filings will have mailing addresses. Not sure about telephone numbers, though.

How long ago did they receive the returned shipment?

I deal with these types of shipping issues at work, though not golf related unfortunately. Sometimes with an organization as large as TGW they have set policies on this type of thing so them saying they needed to receive the item back before issuing credit seems pretty standard.

No doubt you're dealing with some pretty poor customer service, but processing returns like this at a large company sometimes take a little while. Remember too that once they credit your account/credit card it typically takes a day or two for it to show up in your account.

That being said if they've had the returned gear for more than a week you have a legitimate reason to call who ever you have to, to get our money back.

I had a similar problem, but with very different results. I placed an order and noticed that the balls I play were a really good price - except that the 1st dozen was the good price, and the rest were the regular price. I called customer service and they took care of it ASAP.

 

I've only ordered from TGW twice, but I've had a good experience both times. I'm surprised they weren't more helpful with your situation. Maybe give customer service one more try?

As far as it goes for TGW customer service it sucks. They are so big that they just dont care. Had 3 or 4 rounds with then last year and after that I will never buy from them .To many out there that do care about there customers.

I assume you paid via credit card? If so, call them and dispute the incorrect amount, they will reverse the charge immediately and begin their investigation. If the story happened exactly as described you should prevail.

Fraud? Do not agree, a simple error compounded by a companies policy...the topic description is a little over the top, good luck in getting this resolved, should be pretty straight forward for TGW...
