My Friend's Swing

Hey guys,

could you give my friend some advice on his swing. The comments I got on my swing i've already started to help so I thought I'd post my buddy's swing to see what you guys thought

you guys have some of the same setup issues going on. i'd suggest having him try to tilt away from the target at address. the right hand sits down further on the club then the left, so the right shoulder should sit lower.....and your whole spine should tilt to the right a couple degrees. looks like it's doing the opposite right now, with the shoulder line a little too far left, and the shoulders parallel/level to the ground, and the spine pointing towards the target.

then he's really gotta focus on getting rid of the slide with his upper body. his head and shoulders are shifting laterally to his left [i]a lot[/i]. big power loss, takes a lot of timing, early release, probably ends up hitting down on the driver which isn't ideal...etc.

the feet together drill is excellent for eliminating any sort of swaying, because he'll fall over if he does (and your body tends to not want to fall over, so it starts doing the right stuff). start with small half wedge swings to get the feeling down, work up to almost full wedge swings, and even onto 75% midirons. really focus on how the hips & shoulders work together. right hip turns deep behind you in the backswing with some weight on the right foot....left shoulder goes down under chin.....weight the left heel and turn the left hip deep behind you in throughswing and the right shoulder turns to where the left shoulder was. head stays steady and doesn't slide back in the backswing or forward in the downswing.

probably gonna take some time doing that and really focusing on keeping the head back (while playing rounds) before it translates into good driver swings. good luck
