Background:

Play between a 2-3 handicap.

I've been working on trying to get my leg work a bit more sound. My right foot tends too come up to much and the right knee pops out.

I think I am a little steep and upright, making timing too critical through impact.

My miss is a little push or a snap hook.

no pro here. but your backswing looks a bit steep.

looks a bit casty at first glance. but again im no pro.

i don't think it's casty, but it's certainly flippy.....and that comes down to your arms being stuck behind your body/hips.

at the top your right elbows flying behind you, while you have almost no hip rotation....those things combine to put you in a stuck position in the downswing. mcilroy used to have a very similar look, but without the early extension. he'd certainly flush it, but also fought the hooks. if you look at him now, his right arms much more in front of his body and he doesn't look all scrunched up in the downswing.

work on keeping your elbows more together with your arms out in front. could also use the feeling of bringing your hands closer to your right pocket in the takeaway to get your arm plane a bit flatter (more inline with your shoulders)
and rotate your hips open in the backswing. that'll sync things up better, create more power and give you more room in the downswing.
can also and make a lot of swings feeling like your right foot rolls over to the instep as you weight your left side.....no pushing off the right ball of your foot allowed.

Thanks for the insight. I see what you are saying. I've tried to get my left arm more across my shoulder line and I am always late at the ball and block it. I will have to work on that but in doing so make sure I keep the arms in front of my body.
