Now having a few rounds under my belt, this thing is a keeper. 10 - 20yds longer on the course I play 2x's a week so I know where I normally hit it. I also had 55yds in on a par 4 that I am normally 110 with an avg drive and 90yds with a great drive, so that thing was smashed.

This TA UST-VTS combo flat out bombs it long with a great trajectory. I prefer the feel and sound of the TA over my regular Razr Fit as well.

I've had a month now with this driver. Love the feel, sound & trajectory of this club
However I have found a massive difference in length depending on the ball I use has anyone else noticed this !
I am hitting a 9.5 with 6.0 shaft previous driver was 910 D2 no matter what ball I hit the length was the same.

Hi,

I was advised this from Callaway Customer Service in Australia.
Thank you for your email regarding the LOFT adjustment of the Razr Fit Tour driver.

The settings you have emailed are the face angle adjustment, so I have added the below table for you which are the actual loft adjustments that you will create from adjusting the cog settings.

LOFT adjustments
O+ -1.1
O• -0.8
O- -0.5

S+ -0.3
S• 0.0
S- +0.3

C+ +0.5
C• +0.8
C- +1.1
It probably doesn't take into consideration if the player sets up at address with a square face position.

Cheerz :):D;)

Talked to Callaway on 3 separate occasions to confirm this information,

Below is the "Chart" that would accompany the 9 face settings for the TA.

The lie of the club is NOT changed. It remains the same.

C - 1.6° Closed
C ° 1.2° Closed
C + 0.5° Closed
S - 0.4° Closed
S ° SQUARE
S + 0.7° Open
O - 1.5° Open
O ° 2.0° Open
O + 2.7° Open

Hi,

I received further followup from Callaway Australia regarding any change in loft if you set double-cog other than the standard S•.
There is no relevance to the loft change at address, the loft change is dynamic loft.
e.g. If the COG is set on O+ with a 9.5 degree head, at impact the loft drops by -1.1 making it 8.4 degrees.
Hope this makes sense.
This means even if you set the club to O• (2.0*) open, the actual loft change is -0.8* whether you setup with the face Open, Square or Closed.

Cheerz :):D;)

Well guys, here's my BIG UPDATE:

Just got done holding, fondling and photoing the one and only Tour Authentic RAZR Fit outside of Carlsbad! I also had the distinct honor of meeting Dr. Alan Hocknell, the head of Callaway Golfs R&D Department, a very nice and intelligent gentleman indeed.

First, before everyone starts yelling at me for not posting pics, I gave Dr. Hocknell my word that I would not post the pics until he gave me the thumps up, which I anticipate being sometime early next week. Second, the prototype that Dr. Hocknell had with him was not one he was willing to let anyone hit just yet, I'm not sure why that was the case, but I decided not to question the good doctors reason on that one.

OK, let's talk looks first... In one word... SWEET! The crown is the same gloss black as current Fit, not matte as was speculated. The face is also black, not the dark flat black of the R11, but more a softer black, similar to last years Diablo Octane Tour Black. The paint on the sole is indeed green, a deep bright green that is, brighter than the marketing materials posted here may lead you to believe. The nine way hosel looks amazingly good! Not at all bulky, in fact muclh cleaner than the Titleist 910 in my opinion. The head cover is different from the Fit as well, it's magnetic, has no sleeve and is not nearly as bulky.

As far as tech specs go, here's what I got from my short conversation with Dr. Hocknell. The head is technically the same specs as the current FIT. The difference with TA is the additional adjustability of the weight kit and hosel. However the was a brief mention of higher tolerances with the TA. The shaft is indeed a real Project X Black, he did not mention what flexes are available. I asked specifically again if the head was a lower spin version of the original Fit, and again his answer was, "no, however the PX Black shaft should bring the spin down for many players when compared to the stock RIP NV." Dr. Hocknell also mentioned that they were aware that the PX Black shaft wasn't the lowest launching/spinning shaft on the market, but much like the RIP NV used in the original Fit, "it's designed to fit a larger group of players."

I can tell you this, the club looks good, I mean really good... Stealthy, clean and sexy if you will! The only color other than black that can be seen from address is the green on the grip, and of course that is easily rectified if you so desire. The good doctor also mentioned the TA Fit will be a limited run of 6000, not a super small batch, but not a huge one either. He wasn't sure of the exact launch date off the top of his head, but early May is what he recalled. He also believed retails would begin taking preorders as early as Monday April 2.

I'm sorry if I missed any information here, but I'm typing this while in a hurry, so please feel free to fire questions at me, I'll happily answer them as promptly as possible. Also, I will post the few pictures I snapped as soon as I receive the go ahead.

That's all for now! :yahoo:
Does anybody know what the extra adjustment on the TA cog means? I just received my Red/black fit head with a TA cog and Attas T2 6x shaft from Callaway. The booklet never mentions the second degree of adjustability, and I have not been able to find any answers on Golfwrx yet. The extra hosel piece has a + , - , and a dot. I'm guessing its lie angle. Anyone know for sure?

Talked to Callaway on 3 separate occasions to confirm this information,

Below is the "Chart" that would accompany the 9 face settings for the TA.

The lie of the club is NOT changed. It remains the same.

C - 1.6° Closed
C ° 1.2° Closed
C + 0.5° Closed
S - 0.4° Closed
S ° SQUARE
S + 0.7° Open
O - 1.5° Open
O ° 2.0° Open
O + 2.7° Open
So after doing some qick research, it appears that for every ° you open or close a face, you change the loft in a 1:1 ratio.

So a 10.5° driver that is opened 2° would have a 8.5° effective loft. Ergo.... for a 10.5° driver:

C - 1.6° Closed 12.1
C ° 1.2° Closed 11.7
C + 0.5° Closed 11.0
S - 0.4° Closed 10.9
S ° SQUARE 10.5
S + 0.7° Open 9.8
O - 1.5° Open 9.0
O ° 2.0° Open 8.5
O + 2.7° Open 7.8
Are these numbers confirmed by Callaway?
Thanks!

I think I need to get the launch angle up. My DOT 9.5 launched about 14-15 degrees with about 2500 spin rate so I am thinking about setting the TA back to square and go from there (seems that I lost about 5-10 yards on the course). I believe the px black 6.0 may have a higher kick point than the DOT 6.0. Any thoughts out there?

Went to launch monitor today and numbers were more in line with 14 degrees of launch with 2700 spin with a 101 ss for a 250 carry and 274 total. The angle of descent was 42 degrees. Seems to be in line.
