What and how is the best way to find the correct club yardages?

by the way how do you measure it, range finders, go out on the course and find an empty hole and practice on it or what?

Take some notes while on the golf course. Let's say you're sitting at 155 yds, and you take a 6i. You then proceed to put a solid swing on it and fly it to the back edge and just over the green. Well, figure out how much further it went than the 155 you intended for it to go (say 170, for round numbers sake). Once you have a yardage figured, you should have a 12 yd gap (usually between 10-15 yds) between every club.

 

Then just do some simple math. 6i is 170, 5i 182, 7i 158... etc. I also see that you have a 6 degree gap between your 2 mizuno wedges. The distance gap between those will probably be closer to 20 yds.

ps - rangefinders do help, ideally the skycaddie would be the easiest to calculate because after you hit a shot, if you press a button on it (don't know which one, just know from the infomercial) you press it again when you reach your ball and it tells you how far you hit your last shot.

First, when you are playing, do you consistently know how far you away from the center of the green?

 

If not, I would start there, and start keeping track...

 

Gaps between clubs will vary depending on someones clubhead speed...
