Quintero condition report

excellente!
Went out there today and despite the cold and wind, the trip was great.

Quintero is in great shape...fairways and greens are outstanding. Bunkers leave a bit to be desired.

Highly recommend folks make sure and get a round in before it goes away....what I mean by that is that it just seems unlikely the course could make it way out there....that being said, the course was packed today.

I read it is 40 mins drive from main Scottsdale pitch. Also be aware their online booking system is terrible and you wouldn't believe the trouble I am having with a simple tee time move from one day to the next which they ended up double charging me for. Just hope it proves to be worth it when I play there in 4 weeks time

I don't know how you can make a blanket statement like that. I have never had a single issue with their booking system using Golfnow, Golfhub, Ezlinks or Troon site.

You may be having trouble, but their system is not terrible. Things happen.

I would say that it is most definitely going to be worth it, but since you clearly have a sour taste due to the issues you are having, maybe it won't be so great for you.

The course is past Lake Pleasant on the road to Wickenburg. I live in Chandler and it was 1:10 to get there. 40 min sounds about right from Scottsdale.

All I can say is that I have booked many rounds through online portals at other clubs (Grayhawk, troon, We ko pa...) with zero problem. I used the Quintero website portal to book and got an email back to say all booked but the teetime was still showing as open to be booked by others. I called the shop and spoke to someone who really couldn't be less interested and after a chain of emails and calls it was confirmed that the system hadn't taken my booking properly but we got there. A few days later something changed and I needed to move the time forwards 24 hours. I thought a simple call to the course would do it but nope, you have to book the new time online and apply for a refund on the original as unlike a lot of courses, they actually charged the card on booking. I had problems again booking a new time and several weeks, calls and emails later I have not been refunded for the original time despite it showing as being open again online.

Now I'm a pretty laidback guy, but I hope you'll now see why I feel this has gone well beyond the things happen scenario to a succession of failures that cross the line on the things happen category- glad your experience is different and truly hoping the course is as good as I think to put the bad service behind me on the day

We brought 12 guys out there a couple of weeks ago and:

1) couldn't have been more impressed with the course....great layout, but, as mentioned above, the bunkers are in terrible shape. You never know if one will have too much or no sand.

2) couldn't have been less impressed with the staff. We got there and the course had no carts available. We had to be shuttled to the range and many of us did not have carts until after our scheduled tee times. Their attitude the entire time bordered between "we don't know" and "stop bothering us."

All in all, I wouldn't go back. It is brutally far from Scottsdale and pretty pricey for the drive time. We played Grayhawk the very next day and the difference was incredible. Grayhawk is a first class operation.

I agree with the service points stated above. As a matter of fact I chatted with a group of guys that were out there on the weekend and we all commented that the likelihood of the course surviving was slim considering all the negatives. Including the service.

While on the course, the cart girl did not even move...she parked at one hole and just stayed there. The parking/bag guys are quite rude and ambivalent.

As I noted above, I recommend folks to play the course before it goes away...which I highly think it will.

Pleased.....as I said, you may already be soured...and hopefully the service doesn't make it worse when you actually get there....so the only advice I can give is to go for the golf...tolerate the rest. Hopefully it makes it better for you.
