if the course will let me play, I am in. When it is really cold I wear under armour, this stuff works great. It is really thin so it does not restrict movement.

I might be a wimp but- 45 degrees with little wind, 50 degrees with moderate wind.

 

I did play in a tourney a few weeks ago when the wind chill was 20 ;) 32 degrees with wind gusting to 30.

I'm like wannabepro, just not going to play in low 40's and under.

 

Now, if noon is projected at 55 and we're teeing off around 10, I'm in.

 

I've played in low temps, and it's just not fun for me.

Played yesterday...partly cloudy and 42 degrees at tee off (1:30 PM)...down to 39 by the time I left the course...lite breeze, maybe 5 - 10 MPH at most.

 

Long sleeve shirt, heavy and loose pullover, basketball athletic pants, golf shoes, baseball hat. I did wear a golf glove on both hands...I walk with my bag, so it isn't hard to stay warm.

Golf for me is a hobby, and as long as I'm paying, I want to enjoy it. With that said, I agree with the 45 degrees/little-no wind sentiment.

I've played 36 holes in 37°F and drizzle. That's pretty damn cold...and miserable. I wouldn't play in it again if I wasn't on a golf trip.

 

Normally, if it's 40°+, I'll play. If it's sunny, I'm fine.

43 degrees is a warm day here in the winter. Easily golfing weather!

The coldest weather I have ever played in was 9*. I would play in the teens as long as the winds are light .

 

Talking low 50's here in SE Wisconsin this week so hope to get 36 in at least a couple days before we shut her down.

Back when I lived in CT I'd usually play if it was above 40°. One time for high school practice it was snowing enough to cover the ground but we still went out. Man was that interesting... ;)

I'll play when it's cold. I'll play when it's wet. But I won't play when its cold and wet.

 

I agree for the most part, but being up here in Seattle most of the time you don't have the choice ;)

 

I have played in the snow the last 2 years on Thanksgiving on the course I grew up on in Enumclaw. Total goat trail of a course but with orange balls and fresh snow it was really fun with my Dad and 7 year old son.

 

I have played the Trilogy course up here when it was 20degrees out and we were the only ones on the course all day. The greens were so hard you had to play punch shots and roll them in or 2 clubs short and bounce them on. The fourth hole is a 165 yd par 3 almost island green...we played SW off the ice and bounced it up on to the green, an experience with my golf buddies I'll never forget.

 

The best part about playing in the cold...usually you're one of the few people out there!

I hit balls this morning before going into work. It was 35* and I was out there for a couple hours. I have played in 28* weather. If it is playable Ill play. the good thing about playing when its below 30 is that balls bounce off the water.....enjoy the winter...

For me the limit goes around -10C but some of my playing buddies have played in -22 or something... We have this thing called snowdrift golf ;)

man everyday i play a pretty strong wind bar summer and this winter its always either 2,3,4or 5 degrees c conditions dont bother me i like a challenge!!!Theres no ''fair weather'' golfers at the clubs i play.

Played once on holiday in France, -6 degrees celcius. The green and fairways were frozen, but the view was magnificient!! I hit the huge drives :p, but also had to play totally different. You had to play hit your shots to the green way in front of the green and hopefully in will roll onto the green, because shots straight onto the green=ball gone!

The coldest I'll play in is around 35 - 40°. I've also played in the rain, when it's windy and the drops feel like needles hitting you. I was in UA and rain gear so it was bearable.

Nowadays 45 or 50 degrees is about my cutoff.

35-40 here with thermals or under armour. I will not go if there's more than a 5mph wind since that makes it feel A LOT colder than it actually is.

teed off today at 41F with 5-10mph wind. probably got up to 42-3 and down to about 38-9. never felt even remotely cold with thermal pants, khakis, tee shirt, turtleneck and light wool sweater. i'll play in 35F and up with up to 15mph wind.
