Similar to a Black Baby T

Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting a Callaway Tour Blue TT2. I know this might sound like a putter question but it's more about the grip. Now, I have heard a few complaints that the grips that come factory standard on the Tour Blues are too heavy. I really like my Black Baby T on my Scotty.

So my question is: what putter grips 'plays' (I mean the shape) like a Black Baby T? Would a Ping Black Out be similar?
Well here's my second question: How heavy are the Black Baby T's?

I don't think they're made anymore, but I think the closest thing to the Baby T is the old Royal putter grip. They basically were discontinued when Lamkin took over Royal, although some of the other Royal grips survived the merge. I'm pretty sure that the Baby T IS one of these Royal grips, although the Cameron might be a hair narrower.

 

Although the Royal putter grip isn't available at retail anymore, there's a regular supply of Bettinardi labelled versions of this grip, like this. This was also the OEM grip of the Hogan Bettinardi putters before they changed to those hideous lime green Winn grips (actually, the grip feels fine, but looks horrible). The nice thing is that these Bettinardi grips are selling for a fraction of the price of a Baby T.

Baby T's are made by Golf Pride, at least, that's what it says on the butt of the Baby T. Thanks for the input guys. The funny thing is that I have a Golf Pride something or rather on my Bobby Grace and it feels like rubber. (Duh!) However, my Baby T feels totally different, almost a smooth rubber like plastic texture.

 

Keep them coming... I'm not so familiar with thr grip department.

 

What about the Ping Grips? Is the Blackout like a Scotty Studio Stainless Grip that comes standard on the Studio Stainless line?

Can't you just buy a baby T grip from Cameron? A little spendy I'm sure, but you know what you like... ;)

My new BHB4-CC was delivered only an hour ago. I had been hoping that it would have the black Royal STS grip as I had seen early models with what I think was that grip. But no, mine has the bright lime green grip with Winn AVS on the cap. The headcover is the same color and I can live with that but the magnets are already a pain. You pull them apart and they stick to the shaft. THe AVS feels good but it seems thicker than what I am used to and comfortable with. Hopefully the STS will be thinner and maybe a little firmer.

I believe David Mills has created a grip that's similar, talk to Jay (glenwayputters) Last I heard though they were sold out.

Check out the Golf Pride Velvet Putter Grip, I think that the lower "paddle" section feels like the Scotty. By the way, they are only $2.50 at Golf Works. - Good Luck
