Long Island / Hamptons May 19-25

A few friends and I are fortuate enough to be heading to Long Island on Saturday for a week of golf. We are going to be playing National Golf Links of America, Shinnecock Hills and The Bridge. What we have not been able to find a time or place for Friday May 25th. Bethpage has been a thought but given the tee time situation we have our doubts. Any advice for other courses or options? If a new york resident wants to play Bethpage with us or host us at their club on Friday we would be happy to cover their green fee or compensate them for their hospitality. We are all members at the Golf Club of Oklahoma and the handicaps are 3,7 and 16. Thank you!

You will be blown away by all the courses you're playing, especially Bridge. Love that place and make sure you stay for lunch and drinks.

Best bet if you don't have other connections for playing the likes of Shinecock or others would be Montauk Downs. Great Robert Trent Jones layout and much closer than Bethapge from where your other courses are....about half hour or so from Bridge. Has the look and feel of Bethpage Black in that it's one of those rare gems that are public but scenic and just plain fun layout....hit one of the crab shacks on the way back to the Hamptons.

p.s. You mght be shocked at how little NY residents pay for playing Bethpage

If you are playing NGLA and Shinny why not play Sebonak, surely you can get on there if you got on the other two.... Enjoy yourself!

If your willing to play around 2-3 o'clock at Bethpage Black, you shouldn't have an issue getting on.

Not a huge fan of the bridge. In terms of prvt Noyac and Atlantic are excellent. Montauk downs is a personal favorite of mine and is in excellent shape. Very challenging and u won't be disappointed. You can stop at the clam bar on napeague stretch for a post round beer and lobster roll.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. We ended up with 3 rounds at National, 2 at Shinnecock, 1 at The Bridge, and 1 at Baltusrol before we caught a flight out of Newark. All in all, a pretty amazing week!

Nice. If you told me I could only play 1 golf course the rest of my life it would be National Golf Links. Did you have the lunch?? And the Southsides are delicious.
