2 trips to AZ in last year, my review of 10 courses

Will rate what I thought of them in order, I will also put what years I visited:

 

1. Boulders South, the front 9 were the most picturesque that we played. Beautifully maintained... We all agree that was our favoite. Played in April 12

2. We Ko Pa Cholla, liked it so much we played it both years. Decent Value. Wide Variety of Holes. 2011 and 2012

3. Quintero, way out of the way, but the best collection of par 3s. This is a course that is in desperate need of GPS though. 2012

4. Dove Mountain, Tuscon, cholla and Wild Burro, played it twice in one day, great layouts, but the greens had been to recently punched, could not believe they charged full price, they had one 9 closed for greens. Great course though, although unfortuntely windy.

5. Sunridge Canyon, great layout, and great price....greens were not in great shape in May 2011 though

6, 7 Troon North, Monument and Pinnacle, both very well manicured and nicely maintained. Holes seemed to blend together. Nothing super memorable. May 2011

8. We Ko Pa Saguro, nice course, can walk, pretty, but not as memorable or as well kept as other courses. May 2011

9. Eagle Mountain, some very nice holes, some very ordinary holes. Greens were in great condition, fairways left a little to be desired, bit overpriced. May 2011

10. Firerock Country Club, Nice layout, but very few fantastic holes. Course in pretty good condition. Course was nice, but it was the most expensive we played, not worth it. (my best scoring day)April 2012

How did you get on Firerock? Are they offering times to the public now?

a friend of a friend, the rate was 170 or so (member did not play with us).....Still totally private. Good course, but price tag was too much....

Yeah, a mostly fun course, but $170 is too much for it.
