Any chicagoland guys play in GC or GW amateur tour?

I was thinking about joining one of these amateur tours to play some tournament golf and wondering if anyone from the chicago area has any feedback? They're kind of pricey but I enjoy competition. My index is a 7.8.

Look at WGCT.COM it is the weekly challenge golf tour and it is a lot of fun. You play anywhere from 100 to 250 per tourney but you get to play bull valley, dubs, ruffled feathers. Kemper, Olympia fields and if you win and you want to keep your am status you get gift cards to a place of your liking. If you mark down pro you get a check and there is a skins game too hole in one pot also.

I played 5 or 6 events in the Chicago Golf Week Amateur Tour in 2010. It wasn't bad. Overall, it needed some improvement to the format and while they promote "Play like the Pros", I found the events could've have been run a little tighter. But that was the 1st year it was run and I believe it has changed for the better with over a hundred members now over 4-5 different flights. It's a great way to play excellent courses and more often than not in the best of their condition. The only flaw is it's usually a 10-11am start time which takes out the whole day. That's fine when you don't have kids.

It's a great way to meet other players in the area and the prizes are well worth it if you play decent. Rob who runs the Tour is easily accessible and is always looking for more members and their input.

I'm looking into the same thing. Wanting to play competitively next year, and trying to figure out which tour would work out the best. Moving to the NW chicago area in july...

Anybody play the Chicago Golf week tour last year? any improvement to the format/events? B-man? It sounds interesting.
