Safeway Classic

I am going to take my freshman daughter to The Safeway Classic. Are some days or events better than others? If she wants some autographs is there a place to do that? I have never been to a PGA or LPGA event so any help is appreciated.

You have several options...

If you'd like to interact with players, go to a practice round or caddy in the pro am. Trillium is always looking for caddies every year.

Otherwise, just go on a tournament day and catch them after the rounds.

Pretty decent guys in the shop there at the Ghost. They can give you some inside on autographs at that venue.

Also, if local, comp tickets (2) are available with any $35 purchase at any local Safeway store. Usually starts a month or so pre tourney.

You can follow anybody without much of a crowd. I followed Wie, Lorena and Christie Kerr few years back on Saturday very easily.

If you follow Wie, there will be a man mid-40's; Korean, tall; watching Michelle's every move. That would be Wie's daddy. Ask him how to get Michelle's autograph. He is right out there in the gallery. Seems approachable.

This is a great event. Also they have a Clinic on monday that are free to kids. some pros come and do a demo. Hit some shots answer questions and also help some kids with swings. 1:30- 3 Monday the 13th.
Plus
Tuesday the 14th There is a Par 3 shootout in Gladstone at the Home of the First Tee of Greater Portland. The Childrens course. This is a "no ropes" tournament. Clinic at the start and then the pros play a quick 9 hole round. Ten pros are going to be there and that again is a great way to meet some of the pros up and close.
