Avalon, NJ (near by courses)

Reaching out to the Mid-Atlantic WRX peeps. I'm vacationing in Avalon in mid July and I need some local advice on which courses I should play?

 

I like high-end public or even private tracks...my pro can probably get me a reciprical if needed.

 

Also, I'm willing to travel up to an hour each way. If anyone is interested to play let me know, I'll be in Avalon from July 15th to the 21st.

best course at the shore is galloway national by far...not easy to get on but well worth every bit if you can and also hidden creek.....other good courses at the shore include stone harbor, wildwood country club, shore gate, twisted dunes

i think shore gate and twisted dune are the only public ones out of that bunch.

Likes stated above Stone Harbor & Wildwood are private but great if you can get on. Twisted Dune and Shore Gate are also very nice. If you are in Avalon then you could play Avalon Country Club, Sand Barrens or Cape May National all 3 are right off of RT 9. Harbor Pines, Sea View , Blue heron Pines, and McCulloughs are all within a 30-40 min drive. Hope this helps enjoy vacay. I just got home or I would join you.

Played Wildwood, Seaview (Bay course), and Harbor Pines a lot last year and all 3 are great courses. Wildwood has probably the best and fastest greens I've ever played on and the people there are awesome. Very fun golf and great golfers if your looking to play with people. Seaview (I can only speak for the bay course) offers the best views and is probably the nicest course of the 3. Harbor Pines is very nice as well and is the toughest of the 3 IMO. You won't be disappointed with any of them but I personally like Wildwood the best because of the people. All very good golfers and cool people. Can find some great games there. Hope this helps

How is Blue Heron Pines? I am going to Ocean City in September and want to play a few courses. Played Twisted Dunes a few times and will be hitting that one up for sure, trying to pick out one or two more though.
