Yardage Guides

GPS and Range Finders are Great. But does anyone know where i can download some Course Yardage guides? It's old tech, I happen to think Yardage maps and Range Books are quick and simple, easy to look at and make notes on. If anyone has any ideas where I can down load and print some maps off, please let me know....Cheers!

I really don't know, but some courses carry yardage books. I like using yardage books to find carries, bunker positions etc.... Helps with decisions off the tee.

Google earth helps. Can use theyre tools to make your own maps

A lot of courses have course books that they will mail you too, just call them up and ask. You might have to pay for some, but most are complementary.

Thanks Guys, just seems when I am paying for the greens fee and ask for a yardage book, the people don't even know where to look for a range book. I guess everyone assumes the use of lasers and GPS finders..Thanks for the tips.

My son uses one in every tournament, we usually get it done during his practice round. A yardage book is a great tool that helps tremendously in course management as well as having a calming effect when things are going a little too fast. It helps him focus and visualize on each tee and approach shots. Yeah, I tend to get annoyed at some of the responses in the shop. My least favorite is the "The course is pretty straight forward." response. I've never pushed it with any of the shop guys, but sometimes I fume about it from the tee when I'm trying to figure out how far it is to carry a bunker or something like that.

@[color=#282828][size=3][b]bu11dog...you are right. I like the Lasers and GPS's...but they can become a pain in the rear quickly. Golf is a simple game. Yardage Book...simple. I played 4 rounds last week and 1 course looked for 30 minutes...and didn't find anything, the other 2 just said NO...and the 4th asked me what a yardage book was.[/b][/size][/color]
