Titleist R&D Panel in August?

Has anyone participated in something like this? I assume I received an email because I am local, but not sure what to expect. Need to bring my own hybrids and wedge (they are not Titleist).

 

Honor to be even asked to participate, maybe I will get a sleeve of balls.

 

"Dear Steve:

We hope this note finds you well. We're coming to you with another exclusive Team Titleist opportunity - an upcoming Titleist R&D test panel.

We're looking for golfers who currently carry one or more hybrids in their bag to join us at Manchester Lane - the Titleist golf ball testing facility located in Acushnet, Mass. - and take part in the testing process.

The testing will take approximately one hour and participants will be asked to hit a number of shots with their hybrid and then complete a short questionnaire...."

Awesome! They did a great job when I went out in Atlanta to demo their NXT Tour S in yellow back in December. Gave us a great lunch and I was mailed 6 "test" golf balls a few weeks beforehand to evaluate and then given 6 more at the course. I was very impressed with Titleist.

That's amazing! Nice. I was on the panel to try the new ProV1x (2011) ball before it came out, and it was awesome!

I am looking forward to it, not sure how I got chosen. Just hope I don't embarrass myself. An excuse to take a day off from work as well.

She responded back with this:

[i][size=1]Great. Bring your bag with you and expect to hit a few sand wedges as well. Dexterity is not an issue....we will probably hit the higher lofted hybrids but bring the other ones as well.[/size][/i]

The pro I am taking lessons from is a Titleist fitter, he says they always do things like this....I thought I read on here people complaining about Titleist is cheap with free/swag type stuff? Not that I am looking for anything, I would be happy with range balls.

Tha facility is cool. Karen fitted me for new clubs a couple of weeks ago there, and she gave me a tour of the place showing me the way they test new balls (that's apparently all they do there other than fittings).

They had the robot cranked up to hitting 320 yard (carry) drives with the prototype ball.
