Looking for zero iron type hybrid or utility any suggestions?

I just can't hit hybrids, nice snap hook most of the time. Pretty good with a 4i, figuring a 3 iron type with some heft 18-21*.

I got a Yonex Zero iron. I ended up with a 18* bent to a 19* with the Shimada Pro shaft. This combo is deadly. I can hit all the shots and does not balloon like hybrids. I get 230 off the tee and roughly 215-220 off the short grass. It's pretty decent from the rough but not the best.

Go pick a scotty cameron putter and just add a little loft with your stance. It'll play like a blade, and it'll be a player's club, but you're on wrx asking for a 0 iron, so that shouldn't be a problem.

mate try a srixon z-uti 2 driving iron . i think the loft is about 19* ish...

very very nice stick. very soft and pretty long , can move it about with ease.
i have 2 , one with h a miyazaki something-or-other shaft.. which his a piece of shiiiiiiiiiiit .
no idea why people go on about this shaft its very very ordinary!
get this head with a steel shaft the softness of the head can easily handle the harsness of a DG tour what ever they call it, tour proto proto tour, mumble jobbie.. ahhhh.., thast it DG tour issue , thast the other one ..DG tour issue, it handles this thing very nicely.
and its a much nicer feel to play.

get some class and put a NS modus 3 TX in it nad this club is perfectamundo. much much much better than the impopssible to hit yonex thing . much better

The Srixon is the best driving iron I have ever hit, but they are very expensive.

I use the Srixon too, I have both the Z and the older ZR.

Put together a Fourteen 660 18 with a Steel fiber 95 stiff tipped a half inch and this thing is exactly what I was looking for off the tee

Not Japanese, but the TM Tour issue driving/utility irons are great too. They will come up for sale on eBay and the BST here from time to time.

Mizuno MP Fli-His are excellent. I throw it in my bag time to time when necessary.

How about a MIura MU 17*.....I have one and use it on certain courses....great penetrating ball flight and easy to hit from tee or turf.

Does the Srixon Z uti have a .355 taper tip hosel. Am interested but would like the option to install a KBS c-taper or NS modus 3 which I believe are only available in taper tip.

You can just put a shim on the tip...no problem at all.

Good idea on the shim. What would you use and how much of the tip needs to be shimmed?

Any club builder should have shims that go over a .355 tip so it can fit in a .370 hosel.

I had the same thing with hybrids. Ballooning and the inevitable snap hook if I really went after a shot. Can't tell you how many of them I tried (and sold). Then I went for the Miura HB-3 on a whim, put a Project-X Black shaft on it, and BINGO. Low penetrating baby draws again and again. The thing plays like the 3-iron I always wished I could hit.

(That said, I also got my hands on a Miura IC2003 hybrid 3-iron. Same beautiful shot shape, just not quite as long as the HB-3 or as forgiving out of the rough.)

Just go with the Yonex ZERO. I have an 18* bent to 19* with a DG Tour Issue S400 playing 3 iron length produces a strong trajectory great on long approaches, and an incredible fairway finder on short par 4's.
