I have heard some sad news for the holidays. At our last "home" there was a true gentleman by the name of Jaster Merrill.

 

I found out that Jaster has just passed away, truly very sad news for a guy that love the game.

 

I had great conversations with Jaster about Ping and the game of golf and his insight into the game was inspirational.

Well guys, I've got some "inside" news for y'all....some very good business/family friends have sold 600 acres to Ritz Carlton and Jack Nicklaus at Riverstone. They are creating a "better" & more "private" Carlton Woods-type of community. Membership will be limited to 300 members and lots are all about 1 acre (and expensive!). Obviously gated community. Saw the master plan there today, and it looks like it'll be very nice! Hopefully, I'll be able to round up some type of complimentary membership....yeah, right....

 

David Carr is already building a 20,000 sq ft house with 23 car garage, really good corner lot on the water......but I wish it were Vince Young living there instead......... (cool)

 

So.....I'm going to start saving up some $....problem is I just bought 2 Sonartec GS Tour fw's from Chip Usher and placed my FT-i order today....I promise, I'll start saving tomorrow!

Where is Riverstone and second why does David Carr want to build a house here?

 

Riverstone is down Hwy 6 toward Missouri City, and second - maybe Sienna Plantation dropped David's contract....

 

We looked in Riverstone a few years ago when we first started house-hunting. I remember seeing a master plan and there was a "future golf course" on there, but they said they were years away from even thinking about starting that. Should be interesting. Maybe if this pharmacy thing pans out like I hope it will..... (cool)

Then I would have some serious cash $$$$$$ and they could call the course "Fort Bend National"

Not to mention the bullet holes in the window of the proshop from the night before. Seriously. My aunt and uncle live in Quail Valley and they are looking to get the hell out soon. Hard to believe that QV used to be THE place to live in the Houston area.

The golden years of the Houston Open, when in the mid 70's it was played at Quail Valley and Sharpstown.
