Destin golf courses

I'm going to be in Destin, Fl the 3rd week of September...any recommended courses? Thanks...

You can do a search as this topic gets discussed regularly but I would recommend shark's tooth, camp creek and regatta bay. No order to those 3, but they are my favorite.

If Destin is close to Orange Beach, AL you should go to Kiva Dunes! The play state tourneys there. Its an awesome course but beware, the greens are fast and hard. Pro style greens, a lot of slope. have to be on your iron game to get it close depending on flag locations.

There's a ton of courses in the Destin immediate area, Seascape, Emerald Bay, Sandestin, Regatta Bay, Kelly Plantation, Indian Bayou, all good, depends on your price range

camp creek is the best course in the panhandle.... IMO

regatta bay and emerald bay .... regatta bay would be my choice if i needed to stay close to town

kiva dunes is nice but is 2.5 hours from destin

Kelly & Regatta are actually in Destin. Sharkstooth and Camp Creek are a little ways down the road - not prohibitively down the road but if you're staying in Destin then you've got a little ride ahead of you. Could be a problem if you're down with only one car and the missus and kiddos.

Personally, I like Sharkstooth over Camp Creek but that may only be because everytime I've played Camp Creek the wind has been howling.

Burnt Pine in Sandestin is nice but a little overpriced. Raven is ok too. The rest of the Sandestin courses - I'd stay away from.

If you're looking for a money game then Emerald Bay is your bet. Those guys will play for serious cash and there are a few good players out there.

Regatta Bay. Kelly is nice as well but even more expensive i believe.

Live close by and have played them all. Sharks Tooth and Camp Creek are equally the best two conditioned courses. I prefer the design of Sharks Tooth. Kelly Plantation in third followed by The Raven. Regatta Bay is pretty nice. Indian Bayou is a fun course with usually nice but grainy greens. It is also about 40 to 50 bucks cheaper than any of those listed earlier.

I played The Falcon course at Eglin AFB today and it was a treat. #1 was short and kind of ragged, and thought "Did I pay $55 for this?" But starting with #2 it turned out to be a great layout. Lots of variety and challenge, especially #5 which was a bear but fun anyway. Conditions were hard and fast, which seems to be the way conditioning is going these days. Really enjoyed the experience and I recommend checking it out if you go to the Destin area.
