Matrix shotmate, really good!

I have seen a bunch of people ask questions about this unit, so i figured id put in my $.02. So as the title says, I've been playing with the matrix shotmate verbal gps for a little while now, and absolutely love it! On our local courses, we have checked the accuracy against a rangefinder and its never more than 3 yds off.

One knock is it only gives you distance to the middle, but let's be honest, 80-90% of us are just trying to hit GIR, so the middle distance doesn't really hurt much.

The size is great, I put it on my hat and you can't even tell its there. It weights about as much as a restaurant book of matches and about the same size. I get questioned every round I am wearing it, people are pretty impressed with it, especially for the size...

The speed is awesome, you can ride in a cart up to a spot and immediately push the button with no wait and get a quick repeatable distance... The distance measuring is a nice feature, just press the button for 3 sec and do the same next to the ball and get a verbal driving distance (nothing cooler than hearing someone say you sent one 300+!).

When I first got it, I was worried about getting distances when I accidentally get too close to the wrong hole, but before every distance it tells you the hole you are on, if you need to correct it, just press and hold for a few seconds and it will ask which hole you are on.

Overall, for a $135 unit brand new (got mine in here for $100), it can't be beat! It does everything that the average joe golfer needs...
