Rors: the modern era's Hogan?

Given everything (overall swing style, release type, transition move, late bloomer, waggle) I think Dufner is one of the closest to a "modern Hogan." I know that he's a "Hoganite" like J. Byrd, Alex Noren and a few other tour pros. GD did something on him this month. Would love to see Dufner win a bunch of tournaments into his 40's!

If you boiled down your list of factors to just pivot, release and swing from hip high to hip high, would you change the modern Hogan to Woodland? IMO his release and lower body action is the best on tour and the closest to Hogan. He has basically zero stall. Nothing against Dufner, he has a great swing, but his pivot motion isn't close to Hogan's IMO, especially compared to a guy like Woodland. Not saying you are wrong though, I get why you picked him based on all those other factors.

For sure TD (at least Woodland's 2010-11 swing). Not sure what he's doing these days but seems to be drifting further away from Hogan. Probably should have stayed with Randy Smith and never pursued trying to hit a draw. Story that I got was that he dumped his agent (Randy Smith's son) and Randy said they couldn't work together anymore. I have a feeling Woodland is going to regret that decision for a long time coming.

Thank you. Yes I read the same thing about the split. It's too bad - I noticed shortly after he started working with Harmon how his right side would hang back a lot more. But I've also seen some really good swings he's made in 2012 on youtube. Hopefully he gets back on the right track.

Like I said, his swing was my favorite of the long hitters on tour recently. Maybe needs a bit deeper pivot to look like Hogan more, but its good
