Global Warming? Luck? Who Cares!

I just golfed in Chicago in December!

Played at Highland Woods in Hoffman Estates, IL in the Chicago suburbs today. This is my first December round without going on vacation and god does it feel good to play golf when we would normally under a foot of snow and freezing cold.

Can't believe they keep the place open, and it was actually pretty busy. Some group of guys had a tournament there where they were only allowed 1 club, pretty funny to see, but they were on our tail the whole time since they didn't have to think about what club to use.

Anyway, I'm excited to have gotten this rare opportunity and I have thought pretty hard about doubling up tomorrow as well.

Hopefully you other Chi-towners get to steal a few holes this weekend too. Enjoy!

Highland Woods isnt a bad forest preserve course. Its long which is cool but the condition is average. Not bad though. Hope u enjoyed

Yep lots of hills ans elevation changes...hurt my score also. I shot 81 hit the ball great but between the hills,wind and the cold I couldn't get my distances right...I did have fun though =)

So who else got out today and played? Me and justin did hit up Lake Bluff and a fun time was had by all. The weather was awesome and the course was in great shape. Plus it was a great deal.

 

So lets hear it who else snuck out today?

Yea.. this is great. I played at 8:00am this morning and it wasn't even very cold. I live in Ohio so it it usually pretty cold at this time of year. They actually have mowed the greens so it wasn't that bad. The fairways were really long though and there was no roll, but hey I was golfing in december! ...played pretty well, made some birdies, shot 73. ;)

I played at Cog #2 on Friday... Could have gone out on Saturday, but didn't want to push it ;)

i live in central wisconsin have been playin just about every day for the last month, will keep on playin till the snow flies. its been fun greens frozen, ball rolls for miles, theres no going for the green now land short and let it roll. glad i dont have to use scores for handicap, or maybe i should lol

Glad to hear you guys got out and played. We could play here as far as weather goes but all of the courses are closed up because we would have snow by now..

Damn this is fun! Got in another round... There's a pretty good chance we'll go and play the next couple days! Cog Hill plays very slow - no more 300 yard drives ;) and you have to go right at the pin and hope goose crap stops the ball from spinning off the green :drinks:
