Scotty Putter Collections

I was just window shopping at e-bay and searched all putters sorted by price and was very very surprised as some of the BIN Prices of the putters ranging from the $1,000 to $20,000 mark and 99% of them seemed to be Scotty's. Are people really laying out this kind of $$$ on a putter that they will most likely never use?

People collect stuff all the time that others think is a waste of money so I'm not judging anyone, I'm just curious if it's really that common to spend that kind of money on a Putter.

In short, yes. There are lots of people that drop big bucks on Cameron putters.

I dont think collecting Cameron is a waste of money, you'll actually make some money if you know what your doing... :fool:

Sorry if that's the way that the post was interpreted that wasn't what I meant at all. I was just surprised at the amount of Putters going for over $1K. I expected a few (like 5) and the max being maybe $5K for the ultra Rare, but over 40 with the highest being $20K, I was really shocked :fool: . And some of them have been bid up starting at $500 to over $2000 now.

IF you're going for a tour cameron, you're looking at normally between 1500-2500 Base price. 009's start at like 2200 for the base model and can get up a couple more thousand depending on stampings and finish. And these aren't putters we won't ever use. We game them just like we would a 50 dollar putter. In the end it's just a putter. Who cares if it cost 50 dollars or 5000 dollars as long as you are happy with it.

There's some headcovers that have gone over that. The highest I remember of hand was like $2300 or so. LOL

that one will break the 2000 mark easily most likely. Didn't see it had over 4 days left. Very rare headcover there:):):)

I do not like that headcover... and I have a big issue with someone getting a glorified autograph and selling it as a hand drawn cover. But I digress...

People do pay that money for Camerons... and they are worth every penny. I'm mostly interested in tour played putters... and how many guys out there say they putt with Steve Elkington's personal putter?
