World Ends Tomorrow! Let's get in 36!

As we all know, The Ancient Mayan people indisputably predicted the end of our world tomorrrow 12-21-12. (its true, check for yourself, it's all over Youtube) Whether that end is coming from the Giant brown dwarf star that we are still somehow unable to see in the freaking Sky or if a long orbit planet X, Niburu, nemesis, wormwood, whatever your favorite name for it is, engages our blue rock slightly too close for comfort and causes a polarity shift, or a massive shift in gravitational forces resulting in Tsunami's 3 to 4 miles high, (for perspective, that's the full 18 holes at bethpage black stacked end to end up in the sky. now do you see it? I thought so. Lotsa Wa wa!) or if planetary alignment which actually wont really happen for another 28ish years causes some type of massive sonic wave to smash into us (which would be really interesting to study how a sonic wave travels so far in the vast vacuum of space, but i digress) shaking the very foundations of our planet, we have to face reality. This is it for taxes and colonoscopy's, but also for golf.

 

So the question is, what are you doing about golf in the last 24 hours or so we have left? are you barging onto the most exclusive course in your area? Spending the entirety of your last paycheck on JDM stuff that you can't really hit that well? Are you piling in a car with 3 of your buddies and going back to the place of your best golf trip memories from your youth for one last loop around your favorite N. Carolina track? Are you taking your golfing family to the dumpy, poorly kept home course that you realize you actually love? Maybe just your son? Are you going to hit a few balls with your old man who gave you the game, but now can't quite get the club past waist high? We are at the end my friends, you have one last chance to enjoy this game. What are you going to do about it?

Well I forgot that this was on the calendar and I ended up wasting a perfectly good morning cleaning and vacuuming the basement. I did get some packages off to USPS though. The folks at the post office didn't mention anything about armeggedon (sp) so they should arrive on time.

What am I going to do about tomorrows impending doom? Maybe I'll go home, grab a shower and a shave, give the wife little a pickle tickle, and I'm on my way...

Never mind the time, there may be some shakes and shimmies along the way we are still playing under USGA rules. however, just as was the case in England during WWII concerning unexploded ordinance, your course may enact local rules pertaining to lava flows and 1000 foot steam geysers. And you must record 18 scores in order for this round to count, deadly methane gas clouds not withstanding. Play away trembolo!

I took the whole week off and am playing 4X this week. I usually play only once per week.

I've been playing golf, smoking cigars, and drinking scotch all week.

Didn't want to leave vacation time on the books with the world ending!

Nice! The one in Avon is stand alone. I'll be stuck with hitting balls into the simulator. No movie theater or restaurant for me...though there is a Home Depot across the street.

I'm finishing up another set of irons for me and the Old Guy. If the world does go to pot, future archaeologists will marvel at the sweet set of clubs we were rockin'.

Well...since I have a hard time believing anything from a group of people who believed people came from corn...yea I said corn...buuuut better safe than sorry...I guess if I had a no holds bar, no consequence and it doesn't matter what I do...I walk back into a local pro shop and walk straight back to the work area and blast the guy in the mouth 7 times and say that's 7 than I blast him two more times and say that's two... rinse and repeat... Why you ask???? Because I ran out of tape and had him regrip my irons with a request of 7 wraps, when I picked them up they felt a little thin, I asked if this was 7 and the guy (not the one who did the work) says not even close...blows the grip off and there's two wraps...when he asked the guy who did the work he called me a pain in the @$$ and said it shouldn't matter.

That's the last time I ran out of tape and regripping supplies!
