Broke down and purchased another set

So, I have a set of Ben Hogan BH-5's with stiff shafts. Great Clubs, but I was just very inconsistent with them, I'm sure that the stiff shafts are about 50% of the problem. I purchased Apex 4S shafts by accident, but that's a whole other story. So I picked up a set of Big Bertha 2004 irons with the Uniflex steel shafts, and proceeded to play the best round of golf in my life. These clubs are like cheating and about 4x easier to hit than my Hogan's, but provide 4x less feedback, but I can live with that right now.

My only gripe with them is that they don't give you a 3i, instead they mess with the loft on the PW from 46* to 45* and call it a 10i. Then they give you an W (really an Approach Wedge) that is 50* that I didn't find much use for during my round. I will probably take it out of my bag and add a 6010 Callaway Forged+ Wedge.

I have become such a Callaway Ho, I think I need to start getting paid...

Glad you like them, they are like cheating. I have a 1 iron for fun and can just kill it, the thought has come to mind more than a few time that I should just get a whole set of them...

 

The ball goes high and straight...nothing else...why don't we all play them?? :clapping:

I play them, too.

 

They are very easy to hit, but my ball flight is too high, I hit my 4 Iron higher than most people their 7 Iron. (I play them with regular graphite).

 

But for now I will keep them and get customfitted for my next irons next year probably.

I just bought some X-18 Pro Series...and everytime I hit them I smile! They are soooo easy to hit. I still have the Titleist 681's too, and will probably play most of the time with those...however, the Callaway's will be great for this winter when I'm not playing as much. You can hit it anywhere on the face and it goes straight and long...and if you are hitting the center it's a wonderful shot. No in between irons for me...the hardest to hit (681's) and the easiest (X-18)...well, maybe not the hardest and easiest...BUT CLOSE TO IT! :clapping:

If you play with a easy to hit set, who cares. You posted that you had a best round with them, that's what its about, having fun and enjoying your day. Play what works best for you. You can get star struck on this site, I know I do, but I play what works best for me, not what everybody else likes, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
