Calling Through Brag

I was once playing hickory golf as a solo at Dorhout Mees GC in the Netherlands and was called through by Inder Van Weerelt, Jan-Robert Derksen and Marten Lafeber , the last two are European Tour players, don't know about Inder. They were playing a challenge match with a large gallery and I was invited to play through and hit a good one, 'pured' was how Marten described it.

Ah, he probably says to that to every hickory player he calls through...seriously though, the pressure is always on to play well when called through, so good on you for doing it in style.

I guess I have to come clean about the circumstances.
Back in the heady days before banks collapsed (2007), the Van Lanschot Bank, a decent sized investment bank in the Netherlands used to put on a big 3 day event for potential customers, as they put it, of 'High Net Worth'. Part of the hoopla was Stixman and his travelling hickory road show. We had a whole 9 hole executive course dedicated to hickory and we were mobbed by people wanting to try it out. The three Pro's were playing a Challenge Match on the main layout with attendant gallery but me being called through with my hickories was part of the show. I was supposed to hit a gutty, but I thought, 'what the hell' and switched a Titleist Solo for the gutty when no-one was looking and creamed it! I can't recall which bat I was using then for certain but it was probably the Walter Hagen Autograph, tiny head even by hickory standards and about 6 degrees of loft.
